It is very very important to know all about the Mods as to know if still working in the new game version and not conflicting with other Mods you use, Must do this Before adding to you Favorite save.
Test those Mods Before adding to your original save :

That said, I never used ore detector Mod and I can tell it took me a very long time to explore the Star System world to find Rich ore spots where all ores can be found within 1000m, also Rich ore spots where all ores can be found within 500m.
Veteran Tips :
-> Find Gold next to ice lake on planet and all the other ores will close around it within 1000m.
-> Titan is the best start because the Ore Detector block is not needed and all ores can be found within 500m close to all ice lakes.
+
Moons got all ores -1 that is Uranium but a minimum of 20 Uranium asteroid can found faster at +/-30Km around all the 3 available Moons.
Uranium around Titan for example :

-> Ores are at the same GPS coords when creating a new world so we just have to explore one time to know where the Rich ore spots are.
____
Also, a kind player shared GPS coords in LCDs of Uranium asteroids around all planets and moons, that will lower the exploring time a lot and about the same as using a Ore Detector Mod :

But Radio Spectometry looks v v v interesting and I might just have to give that one a go, am I making the correct assumption that its FOV come from the top of the ore detector and that it also works with the new fancy spinning ore detector also?
Thanks Dan :)

I will check out Radio Spectromacy though alter on and see how it goes.
Edit
Sorry, corrections made.
I haven't found an asteroid that I want to inhabit yet and the ones currently in my immediate vicinity are within the earth like gravity well so no bueno given my current circumstance of barely having enough power to float lol.
Thanks for your input and giving me a bit of food for thought.
It is small block Nuclear ship where I've attached a large block Ore Detector, it is way much better than the small block Detector to explore from asteroid surface.
It's easy to make in space (no Gravity), just place the large block Ore Detector floating in space and use small block advanced rotor base, align and attach :

But I'm still in the starter ship with the essentials bolted onto it, basic assembler and refinery, algae farm, solar panels and a drill having to take it nice and slow because I'm not event breaking even on power generation if I do too much mining and refining at one time.
I did see you share that else where with somebody else and I really dig the concept.
I have a Warship able to win the battle against Factorum so I am at collecting High Tech blocks.

My problem I ran into with the Ore detector was me having the pointing face in the wrong orientation on the type 2, the axis aren't aligned the same way as the original ore detector, re-oriented it and its range is ok now.
