Spline display

Hey all, I am new to mods/map making and was wondering when you make a road spline does it display right away or does it just show up as a petroglyph logo until you like render it in the game?

should show immediately....but im going of the old coh worldbuilder....map edit program looks very simmiler

What the heck is the file i need to look for in the Base texture, bump map, road damage, road FOW? When you click the drop down menu it appears that you can select any and all image filetypes not specifically spline types.
