Nothing was custom with the exception of the 3D object. It was created in Blender 2.93. Exported to Actorcore as a FBX for rigging.
Then moved into Unity 2018.4.6 where character mod setup workshop tool 0.3 was added.
It was rigged as humanoid. Bone structure was selected (root and head bone). Stats were entered and it was loaded into the game.
I tried re rigging the asset and verifying weight paint. Things seem to have gotten better, but still having issues with deformities on the asset when possession is taken.

Im also finding that missing textures is a serious issue as well. When you are a distance away from the asset in game, that half the body is missing. When you scroll in they reappear.

My comp: Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core. Geforce RTX 3060 12gig. 64gig ram. Win 11. All drivers are updated. Latest version Direct X
All ingame setting are on Ultra.
Option 1: Baking the asset in Blender helps a lot. But I loose a ton of fine detail.
Option 2: Loading in all the materials separately into Unity, instead of doing an embedded FBX file. However, when my asset is in character customise in game, my assets face is missing. But when you play, its there.
I am not sure what exactly fixed the issues for you on a technical level. I get that the rig needed lots of finetuning, but what was the issue with the shaders precisely?
