Code Optimization is something that takes quite a bit of work but is something that should be adressed. Games (and some of the best games) with the most moving parts have to do this to keep computers from being overtaxed.

I think that is a problem with DD2. As only when I play DD2, does my computer run on average of 10-15 degrees Celsius higher than when playing certain RPGs (MMORPGs, ARPGs,etc), RTS, and MOBAs. Granted I run those games on the near lowest graphical settings as I do with DD2, but it would seem that the complexity of some of those games should make my computer run a bit hotter. Maybe something to think about before the official release.
