Although Synergies is much more damaging than vanilla or most other mods; it follows the same basic principles with higher numbers and that means this Guide can help with general selection:
https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1709334997
Also read this for the info that we do have within this community for Synergies that was salvaged from the late Synergies Forums:

And some notes on the Synergies Classes:
Minion Builds require Skulls of Umbarmun or Joskin (there's more powerful Synergies items beyond these vanilla items yet it makes a good baseline) to be powerful so Necromancer is not ideal for anyone other than experienced players or those willing to farm.
Paladin is not finished hence may have gaps in build options.
Ranger is not a historical preference amongst Synergies Players due to lacking certain traits however the range can benefit survival somewhat.
Warlock is probably your best option in terms of skill selection. You'll need to prioritize defensive survival first internally (using Class Skills) before building damage from external items. It's still recommended to farm for Skulls of Limony and Riechliu to get survival up.

Synergies' Table Mountain is accessible early game and offers easy access to powerful merchants selling powerful items hence use that advantageously.
