Are you retarded? The whole point of Monster Hunter is to be able to tell if they monster is weak from observing it's physical appearance and how it moves, i.e. if it's limping or not.

I don't know what the hearts mean, but i'll just assume it means lovely.

Did I complain about that at all? I'm fine with all of that and capture majority of the monsters I hunt. I just think it would be cool for monsters to have a health bar.

Yeah, Monster Hunter is a game better left without monster health bars.

You already have something similar to it. The ECG graph below a monster's picture on the bottom of you're screen shows the general status of the monster, from rage, stamina, and health. The closer to a flatline that heartbeat line is the closer to death the monster is, generally.

The above hasn't been fully proven I believe but from my and other's experience its fairly reliable. As long as the monster isn't enraged, as that excites the ECG graph and may make it appear more lively than it really is.

I think the same was for the graph, it's an indicator to their condition, but i've noticed when they get thirsty it gets closer to a flatline and then when they're no longer thirsty, it's jumping all around again.

they regain a bit of health when they eat/drink

There was a mod for the 3DS games (X / XX) that added health bars, which I used briefly. Aside from seeing how hard a greatsword could hit, it was a novelty at best. It's entirely useless. The difference between seeing a monster at exactly 50% health, and 10% health is that you'll perform worse at 10% health cause you're rushing to finish the fight. I already find myself avoiding looking at the heart beat monitor unless I'm capturing because it throws me off trying to figure out how long I have left. Don't learn to rely on a health bar, the signs of weakness are there and you'll hunt more naturally seeing visible signs than a health bar.

I understand what you mean, I just want to see how hard i'm hitting for so I can do some form of dps comparasions.

There's a dps mod, but it shows the entire party's individual output. I want to be firm with this though, do not consistently hunt with it. This game is not about damage output, but tactics, some weapons rely on consistency, while others opportunity. It's a tool you can use for yourself within same-weapon-different-playstyle dps comparisons. Consider that the community was split as to whether the game should even have damage numbers. I know the series is going to change, but a lot changing about what makes monster hunter unique isn't good when it happens too fast. I don't mind the numbers now that I've used them for a bit, but truely all I need to know is that my weapon is a higher attack than another of the same type, and that I'm hitting the sweet spot. In past games this was done by making a louder, differently pitched hit sound.

Ahh, that's actually pretty cool! I never played the older games, although was tempted to pick it up fo the switch. I'm probably just too used to WoW and using Skada etc(dps counter)

It's a good game, just a very different experience. Prior to World, all MH were pretty functionally the same with minor improvements, while mostly focusing on content. The Hunting horn didn't even show songs as it did now until the most recent version on the 3ds (and switch), you had to stop, go into the menu, then read off and memorize the songs you needed.

From what I've seen, World has about 100 or so hours of content, but the prior on switch has over 700 hours with 89 monsters, with some variations like the pink rathian. Compare that to the 34 monsters in world, but that does come with the improved graphics, therefore dev load. The only reason they've been able to add so many monsters is because they've used and updated assets from older games, and the one on switch is literally a celebration of what the series has been, and at 89 monsters, it doesn't even have them all. On the wiki page listing all the monsters there's about 150 large monsters.

A lot of new hunters have the same complaints about the new game, but it's the same with every game. "where's the boss health" or simply refering to monsters as bosses which still bothers me a bit. It's just that with this game there's a much bigger appeal to the general public and that has me scared. This game that I've put almost 1000 hours into across 5 games has suddenly made a huge change and with the internet being as loud as it is, I don't want people to force a change in "world 2" that didn't need to happen because the internet couldn't adjust to what so many of us have since as early as the PS2 days. I almost didn't even pick this game up because of the near radical change and denuvo. I guess really what I want is to modernize monster hunter without modernizing it, a thin line to walk surely.

That all being said, if you wanna hunt sometime; add me, we'll hunt, I've always got more to teach, and I'm really not as preachy as this makes me out to be ;)

For sure, I sent a request, i haven't been on it since BfA came out, but now that i've caught up on everything, i'll be on more now. I use dualblades, seems easiest imo, on Nergi atm

That's too casual, even for MHW though. If you didn't realize yet, there's a "health bar" on the monster's pic in the lower right screen. The "heartbeat" tells exactly when the monster is about to die PLUS skull icons appear on the map over the monster when limping.
Please pay more attention to the game's mechanic.

The heart rate monitor isn't tied to their health.
