'Your model is too small"
I know asking in the fourm for a dead game may be a long shot, but I followed the guide for exporting in blender, and I even used the template. I got my model and vmt, vtf all ready.

but when I try to load up the model in BS's sword creator, it says the sword is too small. And it pointed out width of sword (I think) unfortunately the sword my design is based on is meant to have a small hilt, and if I scale the model up, the sword goes out of the bounding box. (from the template.

Any ideas?

Redesign your sword to be wider or create a small box / 2 vertex line (not sure if thats possible with the smd format) that is wide enough (look at http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=835016042 for an example).

Would that mess up my textures at all?

As long as you don't mess up your uv mapping, no.
Be sure to assign it it's own invisible material.

This is my first 3d project with blender,
And I'm really enjoying learning more about 3d modeling :)

Ok, that worked, but now my sword is just a glowing wireframe,
I'm guessing my textures got unlinked somewhere along the way.
