It's an acronym. In German: Komfortabler und Innovativer Superstarker S-Bahn zug
Wich translates to Komfortable* and Innovative Super powerful Speedtrain.
*I know it's written Comfortable.

It should be working fine without any mods.

You will only need Improved Public Transport 2 in order to assign the train in your local train network. Otherwise it will span randomly, for both local and inbound trains.

Do I need to replace the back of the train with the Engine or does it work without the mod?

@Kratos; Game doesn't handle white color well, so it's a game limitation I'm afraid

All of them are line colored; Twindexx, PESA, KISS etc. Only train/monorail I released which is NOT line colored is EC250 Giruno, SBB variant.

Aside that one, every train I've released can be line colored. That is always mentioned either on screenshots or in the description.

Do you mean, that i.e. the Twindexx trains (like the IC) or this one are line coloured themselves, or that some of them are?
