You think you could add a variant that adds more Dwarf Fortress style dwarfs? with a higher chance for like, alcoholic/chemical interest, stubborn, Abrasive, Greedy, ETC ETC and like a 90% chance for Undergrounder, Psychically dull, & Steadfast

To make people not want to pull their own hair out. The other Dwarf mod Smuffle is refferring to is the Rimhammer Dwarves race. Also Thank you Smuffle for giving us this mod for the longest time, I enjoyed it when I used it. Thank you for the joy.

@Toast Jecrell(creator of the Star Wars, Call of Cthulu, Werewolf, Vampire mods) has been working on a big project he was comissioned revolving around the Lord of the Rings, and we'll probably get dwarves in it.

You go to your steam file location, so Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100 and in there are all the Rimworld mods you download. All the folders are numbers that are found at the end of the url for their specific workshop page, so yours is 966307530

Ah, I see, smart. I just started learning this stuff so I just wanted to take a peak, I apologize for being mistaken as I was looking for <MiningSpeed>. Anyway, I guess I'll just wait and look forward to when the LOTR mod comes out.

@Platinum Angel I'm a bit unsure about updating since I heard a large LOTR mod was coming, that will be a lot better. The modification to mining stat is not in the race xml, but in the backstory. Mining skill has been added to every backstory, thus dwarfs do mine faster than normal pawns :)

Not sure if you have any plans to update this, but I took a look at the Race_Dwarf.xml and noticed there was no modification to the mining stat, unless I'm mistaken or if that was intentional. It'd be cool if they mined a bit faster than normal pawns though.

@Trexmist you can either select the dwarf scenario, then you get all dwarfs, or in prepare carefully, you can select add from faction, and then select from dwarf colony. Keep in mind that in their portrait, dwarfs looks very similar to humans. The size difference is seen in-game.

I would make them forced into thin bodytype, and high likelyhood of beautiful trait. However, haircolor will be unchanged. Tauriel is red haired.

A couple of things you could do to offset them from humans would be to force them to a specific skin color, hair color, and body type. Don't know about you but I've never seen a fat, red haired, non fair skinned elf (other then dark elves).

@TheFrustratedElmo I started to tinker with them, but they ended up looking exactly like humans. Only thing I can really change for them is names, factions and lifespan. Is it still something you guys want? If so, I can make a simple mod for it.

I think that I made mining better for dwarfs. Whatever backstory they have, they get a bonus to mining. I think I adjusted comfortable temperature as well. Regarding plants, I wont change it as it may break the balance of the game. I like the small clothing idea, but thats not possible to change through xml coding alone.

how about a small boost to the dwarfs...dwarves...(how would you say that) mining skill through the genetic adaptments to mining that they would have. also the extra fat on their bodies would prove useful for a small bit of insulation and protection. I understand that adding those ideas may be too unbalanced so i'll add to the other end of the scales: the added fat reduces max comfortable temperature, they may be less adapt with plants or animals due to their usual environment not having many plants or animals and to compensate for the small protection boost you could make them unable to wear certain clothing due to it "not fitting". these are just my ideas for the mod do with them what you will.

Simply put: I suck at drawing. I need texture for my mods, but I can't make them. That means collaboration, which in turn takes much more time and teamwork.

Hmm ... ok, why else not make a mod specially for weapons, armor for Dwarves, Goblins and Troll?
It will add more imersity, because they look too human

I can adjust the lifespan to be longer. That should be no problem. Adding armor, weapons and other textures won't happen for this mod in particular since it was created with the premise of being textureless.

The dwarfs does not have alcohol dependence. I thought about it, and I tried to add dwarven ale/mead to the game, but decided not to. Simply because the drug system in Rimworld can be a bit difficult, and having alcohol dependence from the beginning of the game, may very well ruin it since it takes a long time to make your first batch of beer. If you still want it though, you should be able to add alcohol addiction through the "prepare carefully" mod, or through custom scenarios.

okay nice :) ! The Dwarf "Balin" of the Lord of the Rings is 234 years old, its must be their age limit.

I had completly forgotten about mithril, but that shouldn't be too hard to add. I'll see what I can do. The dwarfs have extended lifetime already. Dont remember what I set it to, but it's about 150 years I believe. Yeah, beards are possible, but I'm not sure if I'm able to make them always have it.

It would be nice to add pieces of weapon and armor dwarfs, And add the "mithril" :D !
and in the option to the dwarfs, a lifetime of 250 years should be added , Since they live longer than humans, Otherwise it would have to make sure that every male dwarf must have a beard ;D (for the roleplay) (PS*:sorry my english is bad :/)

@Dr. Kaiser No texture changes with the exception of faction icons. The dwarfs will however be restricted to the fat & hulk body type. There is a texture addition with the beards, thanks to Nackblads mod.

well dwarves can be placed differently in each lore but usually they mine and like darkness. That is the one I thought about.

@rashaverak I'm not really sure of which mood debuff you are refering to. There is a mood debuff called "Living in darkness", which I thought of disallowing for this mod, but then I thought that the dwarfs of LOTR live in well-lit surrondings, or am I wrong?

@dantheman I thought about calling it dwarves, but ended up calling it dwarfs as it was simpler to remember in a coding perspective. Beforehand, I googled it, and found that both is used commonly.

there is a mood debuff for pawns living in cave, can this increase mood for dwarfs and decrease the mood if they dont have it ?
