I'll probably update this weekend.

I ended up re-writing this mod for 1.6 making it patch the Smokeleaf Joint Def instead of replacing it, and making a few tweaks to my own personal taste. It removes the (albeit probably mostly harmless) red errors caused by missing / changed bits that have been added to vanilla since this mod was made, and any changes I made are outlined in the description.

works fine in 1.6 as expected since it just patches drug effects. just needs version tag updates

Actually marijuana is recognized to be addictive to 2/10 people and highly addictive to 1/10 using it daily. If you update it like that then it would be realistic

it can also make you focus easier and work as if a more relaxed state which is preferred in some cases.

just saying it can have a Lot of positive effects.
on the other hand if people who tend to need control tend to have negative mental reaction to any drug that takes away mind or body control, so those would have like minus 10-20-30 on mood in such cases ^^

it makes you happy and more mentally stable/relaxed as well, its actually the main effect ^^
also its stages, 1,2,3-just happy, less concious and less effected by bad mental stuff, so high you can barely move but your mental total numb to all neg concious is like 10% left, lastly so high you just pass out sleeping waking up 16 hours later feeling you had the most amazing dream ever and still pleasently high but hungry and thirsty like hell and weird gravings xD

Why is the negative so massive in the first place? w/e at least I wasn't the only one that thought the penalties were way over the top.

have you considered making this mod customizable though? as in, a settings menu wouldn't hurt I think.
for instance, I'd like to remove the consciousness penalty altogether, but keep the moving speed debuff and set a non-zero chance of addiction

if this was realistic the effects would stack the more often they smoke and eventually if they smoke every day they would gain the "intellectual" status effect for +30 philosophy and intelligence

if you smoke it, its still burning plant matter and you are inhaling what are known as products of combustion and which can and will irritate asthma in the long run despite THC being a bronchial dilator. The trick with asthma is to not burn the plant matter but rather vaporize the plant matter into a portable container like a bag and inhale that.
Avoid THC oils and other processed smoking and vaping products due to the presents of other irritants

Thank you for this mod. I think the D.A.R.E program got to Tynan a little bit too hard; he obviously hates weed for some reason.

From what I hear, it works fine on 1.3. I will update it at some point here but I've been playing a 1.2 run that I don't want to chance updating yet.

I'm leaving in the carcinoma and asthma chance in because that is absolutely realistic. Weed has just as much tar in it as cigarettes, if not more.

So does smokeleaf, in rimworld, contain tobacco? 'Smokeleaf tolerance' causes my pawns to get cancer. Would you be willing to remove this?

As a frequent user of the devils lettuce I feel like this mod doesn't go far enough tbh to balance "addiction" mainly the moving stat seems off. Manipulation possibly gets impaired but if I see a donut and I'm stoned its more like a +10 than a -10. Been using on 1.3 since the beta. still works.

@Agent Yea? You ever experienced physical withdrawal symptoms? I haven't in my decades of weed smoking experience in which I have quit several times. Even if you have gotten mood impacts or anything like that, Rimworld's addiction mechanics are far too aggressive for any sort of weed "addiction".

maybe a 5%, also you know the effects vary a lot for every person, also the said addiction on rimworld is really excessive, again their effects are individual

Thanks for this. I don't know if it's supposed to be a game balance thing or if Tynan actually thinks smokeleaf screws you up THAT much, but 30% is ridiculous.

Hell, I aced my neuropsychology final on smokeleaf. My warden should be able to handle a simple trade without a massive penalty from rEefER mADneSs.
