is there a way to make the trap only hurt the predators? I don't want to end up killing any thrumbos that wander into my map while I'm smoking a cigarette

His steam profile shows he is still alive! It also shows a Patreon page. I cant say anything for SURE except that when you're like Jecrell and authoring many projects while being responsive to community requests then you end up spending a lot of your personal time.

Whenever you come across a developer in such a case online, and you want to see their work continue, its *always* a good idea to donate some money and send some kind words of appreciation.

We're all human. We have bills, we have emotions, we are all blinded by our own perspective. If your missing his contributions and wish to see them return then some praise encouragement and a few bucks may just go a reallll long way. Keep in mind too, with all the global events going on IRL right now times are harder for everyone...Impossible for us to gauge that impact for our random netizens.

I doubt RimWorld will get another major update that breaks most mods. If only someone could update this mod for [1.0], I doubt it will need another update to stay functional for years to come.

For anyone who's been wanting some sort of alternative, "Hunt for Me" allows you to train animals to hunt other animals in packs. It's not as simple, but it's something.

Please do not make the traps resetable for B19 unless it is an option players can change in the mod. Not all of us want to go back or change the base game past hunting with traps.

Animal AI and trap handling has changed, so I'll have to reinvestigate how to make this mod again for the B19 edition of RimWorld.

Colony Management mod is what you're looking for, it does exactly that and more. you can set areas, what animals to hunt in those areas, and how often that should be updated.

Needs to be the base game, seriously makes so much sense and is a great way to deal with animals from other mods like dinosaurs

@Willpill35 I came here to ask about the same thing, but my idea was a hunting blind that you build and put a bill to hunt ____ etc. and it has a radius around it and they will hunt in that area.

Could you possibly make a mod that lets you set certain critters for auto hunting? Example you would place down a spot like with party or wedding spots then select the spot and set what animals it is allowed to hunt. Then any hunters will try and use the spot if someone else is already useing it then they will move on to their next task and the hunter useing it will try to find the nearest animal that is allowed and hunt it automatically.

Jec a couple random questions for ya
1. Do animals learn where the traps are and avoid them? I snapped a couple with mine but now they don't seem to hit them again.
2. Do proximity based traps get altered by this mod? So IED's and similar will explode when an animal is nearby?

Anything that uses the class Building_Trap will be modified. If something makes a new type of trap in new C#, it might not apply to it.
In other words, test it out, and tell me what works.
