like this in the gmod addon file the folder hierarchy is like this ^^^

open console and type menu_cleanupgmas,this will remove all unused addons that are sitting in your addons folder , as probably my addon still sits there and the game still reads the sound files

Question 1: Where did you go to replace the files for the footstep sounds?

Question 2: Like the one person said, when you want to disable the sound, it is still there. Do you have to restart the game after disabling it or something?
