Yes, things still fall through planets and can spend an eternity down there affected by gravity orbiting the void center of the planet, maybe even colliding with other things down there and using up plenty of processor.

Maybe / Sometimes? If you find yourself with that particular pile of nails at some point, at least you know where to find the suitable hammer :P

yea i dunno, collision detection must be affected by something in my server setup, because i constantly have ships falling through the world. I still need to use this.

I've managed to shove grids through the planet while using speed mods, so I imagine this has still got it's uses.

@RogueCmdr - Every time I raise that question, a few folks pop out of the woodwork to claim it's still relevant. Personally, I haven't see grids fall under the planet surface in a long time. If it's a problem for you, then this might be useful!

woudl this mod have any chances of affecting sky boxes? because i have one i want to use but oddly its not showing im trying to find the mod making the issue but its slow

I have rediscovered a need for this mod once again. Players complained about low sim speed again on the server, and i discovered a colliding mass of grids just barely too large for Keen grid cleanup to catch, all dancing around each other at the center of EarthLike. This is still a relevant mod.

This mod was built in a time when grids phasing through the planet surface was a much more common issue. It's not so bad nowadays, but can still happen.

It technically could, but using the EarthLike planet as an example, you'd have to get down about 20,000 meters before your grid would be considered for removal

I feel this would be a sensible place to ask, does anyone know where the mod that I usually accompany this to is, the one that prevents flying through planets at high speeds?

You mentioned in a previous comment that underground bases that extend past 1/3 of the way to the planet's center would get cleaned up, does that mean an automatic drill platform which drills straight down on its own welding conveyors as it goes will eventually just disappear?

Sounds like steam corrupted the download. Try unsubbing, waiting a while, restarting steam, and then resubbing

This mod is excellent and saves both sim speed and admin work on dedicated servers, without generally affecting most players. 99.9% of players will not reach the 1/3 threshold unless they are specifically trying to drill all the way through the planet as a challenge. Another exceptional mod by Meridius_IX / Lucas

@Geronimo do you know the speed of whcih it passes through, I've been using a speed mod forever and recently realized this is what causes it. I did do some testing and there are times I could get the ground at 400 and bounce off. My max speed is 500 large/600small. I've hit things at 600 and some times I pass through, more than not.

If I turn of physics iterations it seems to increases the propablilty that I wil not pass through, But I can keep that at 32, I have it at 10 now.

Do you know of a formu or what triggers this bugB How many physics interations would I need to not pass through per 100 speed or something.

Yes if any speed mods are used, then the gane tends to not detect voxel damage so blocks pass through ground/planets. This is a must have mod for many servers and even private games. Though I would like to see this mod with differnt distance settings/varients from when blocks are deleted within planets as a means for better customization.

In all honesty, this mod probably isn't really necessary anymore. The issue of grids falling through the planet surface is all but gone now after the last few major updates

Could you make a mod that instead of deleting ships under set trash removal condition would teleport them into a set location and insert into a grid?

Surface is based on sealevel, so mountain stuff should be fine.

is the "surface" sea level altitude? or is it below ground voxel? bcs it does matter if you put your base into a high mountain.

I have seen big rocks on Mars default planet get deleted because they are partcially in the ground, and I have been wanting to find the monoliths, but i guess this mod has been deleting them too :(

@Charlat - It's possible, but they'd have to be built several km below the surface to get caught by the cleaner.

this will fix my save game as i know for a fact my entire carrier is under the planet and causing so much lag it hurts my brain trying to move just hope it does not delete my undergruond hanger i think thats just at the 1/3 distance line the reactor room maybe just under it

if this works as intented, ill be really happy as ive had instances where i spawn a large ship in atmosphere and it just sinks through the planet forever.
