@Polyacov_Yury Cluster T's cursed I swear. The background animation is definitely the jankiest part of the entire thing, as the script is meant to cease when a certain flag is removed. However, it also will just run a new version of the script every time you connect to T-A. It's jank, and there's no real way to get the animation to exist without it being jank in trying to get it to stop. Eventually it'll stop, but good luck figuring out when.

So. Been a while, huh?
Am playing through all the extensions mentioned on HackerJam pages, and discovered that I already completed this way back when. What was it, 2017? 2nd year of university.. almost a decade ago. My mind from back then feels wiped, but I definitely remembered the laughs I had from L's choice of firewall solutions and the whole ping-pong saga :D
Definitely enjoyed (re?)playing through this one with my mind at full capacity. The plot twist got me good :D
Only a couple notes on Cluster T. You, sir, are a cruel piece of work for disabling the net map on this one. Got it back by writing down IPs for the first 3 nodes, then going to the reset node, then scanning back the nodes and going from there (avoiding T-A). Only problem - something broke in the process. Background didn't stop changing even after I got into T-X. That's what I get for hacking the hacking sim, I guess :D

This extension heavily encourages you to rename the various tools to speed up the hacking process (such as renaming SSHCrack to 22), as well as tab complete what you can't rename (such as porthack). You also need to figure out which of those tools is the fastest to use, as you only need 1 port open on A-X to Porthack it. From what I can remember, the bin deletion process goes in alphabetical order, so keep that in mind when it comes to setting up your bin folder's structure, as you want to at least have the memdump running by the time the executable gets deleted, though YMMV on that one.
So what do I do on A-X? I can't use trap, and it doesn't leave me enough time to open port + porthack, not even mentioning dump
Grumpy Yukichi  [
So the only stuff that will enable the ram after the fact are immensely damaging (eg. wiping sys them fork-bombing) hacks. A-X wipes your bin folder, which, while annoying and slows down progress, doesn't fit into the above as you only have to open 1 port on A-X within approximately 10 seconds.
Nevertheless, node A-X disables my memory tray
Grumpy Yukichi  [
For the most part, you don't. Nodes which you can/should trap should re-enable your RAM view as part of it.
Hey, how do I trigger trap from console? All the nodes I connect to disable my memory display, and I can't trigger them by click

Either way, I have finished this extension, and wow I loved it! Has definitely got to be one of my favorites I've played so far! (I am on a long, long journey to play them all lol)

I checked the file, and found that the ip for the credits named "Final Point" had a different IP from the one given in the Credits.txt, and the IP in the credits.txt doesn't exist in the files? I checked 3 other accs and it only happened on the one I finished lmao. Sorry for the bother, not sure why it happened. My acc is named Ace, if that's any indication?
Grumpy Yukichi  [
I double checked, and for me the connect command works for the credits server without dev tools. Are you possibly mistyping the IP?
Grumpy Yukichi  [
From personal experience the #GIBSON_IP# tag can be a bit finicky. I'd recommend checking the IP as written for "gibsonCredits" in your save (if it exists) and see what it is there. If it's still impossible to connect, then you'll need to dev connect to gibsonCredits and let me know so I can fix it for future playthroughs.

Thank you so much for your timely and repeated help! I've managed to get past that spot and got all the way to the end, actually! Really fun game, buuuut I did have one last problem at the end I got the credits.txt file but whenever I try to connect to the ip (e.g I did "connect fd::185.202.40.81") and for some reason it won't send me to it. Did I mess up my save somewhere?
Grumpy Yukichi  [
You can counter the deletion attacks by making a shell on your own system and then doing a shell trap.
Ok I seem to have run into another problem, whenever I visit these nodes that I want to get a memory dump of, I get all of my exe files deleted, and I can't ever get admin access before I get all of my files deleted. Am I supposed to just go really fast in the 10 seconds, or am I missing something? I even tried trapping them with a proxy shell but that didn't seem to work
OHHHHH he was referencing the other nodes, ok I will go make memory dumps of those previous nodes. Thank you so much!
Grumpy Yukichi  [
Wrong info. Check the memory of the nodes T bounces to to find the actual memory dumps you need. Specifically you need to find the node named what T bounces to (eg. C-X) which means re-running earlier challenges when needed.
I have gotten all of the memory dumps of the nodes and I saw that T would sometimes bounce off the IPv4 node with an extra 2 characters at the end of the IP sometimes, and I noted all of them, I guess I'm just more confused on the formatting? Because 2 of them have an X character (There's "A-X" and "C-X") and they're all formatted as "Uppercase letter" "dash" "number" (e.g. A-5, or B-2) Are those correct or am I looking at the wrong information?
Grumpy Yukichi  [
It's worth noting that you'll have to actually check the memory of the given nodes if you haven't already, then you replace the numbers in E-key.txt with those.
Yeah I found the E-key and I have a pretty strong guess for the password, but i just don't understand if the fragments I got from the memdumps are supposed to just be plugged in the way it is (e.g first fragment of the IP is A5B2:) or if I'm supposed to calculate it somehow. I may be overthinking things but my main issue is just trying to solve the key with the fragments i got from the memory dumps
Grumpy Yukichi  [
When you first got the reward from completing cluster D, you were given a file called E-key.txt. It has a format of 12:34:56:7:: you replace the numbers with the ip fragments given to reveal the end node of cluster E. The password hint's answer is something you'll have to either already know, or do some research online for. The actual answer is not stated in the extension.
Hey sorry, but I seem to be really stuck at the E clusters, I can't for the life of me understand any part of the puzzle from all of the memory dumps. I got 7 pieces of dumps going like A-5, B-2, and such, but I honestly don't know how I'm supposed to solve this? Can you give any hints?
Grumpy Yukichi  [
What does it say at the top of E-20's login menu?
Awesome extension, great work! The only problem I've found - cluster E-20 does not tell the password to it, even though MemDump of E-17 tells that the server should say it. So I'm basically stuck on here for now.

Glad you decided to put this back on the workshop, I had a blast with this one when I played it back in 2017-2018. I remember it being pretty challenging too. I don't know if you ever plan to make more extensions or not, just wanted to say this one stood out from the rest, partly because of its focus on difficulty rather than story. Great job
