This is my absolute favorite passenger train. It is nicely balanced, pretty and so very universal.
Thank you so very much!

Due the bad stability of this SPV, mostly a locomotive was coupled to some SPV/coaches. SPV was also nicknamed SPV = Seldom Powered Vehicle .

@THE TRUE TRANMASTER they would run them either as a string of SPVs or a SPV and coach

did these rum with passenger cars or did they just stack a ton of them together?

lol, i was actually about to ask if i could mod your RDC into the M-497.. good to know it's already in the works

I know... i have modelled the black beatle from my Budd-RDC but its not ready to release :steamsad:

Yes, but the Black Beetle had a sloped front. And with two jet engines on the roof, anything will go fast. The trick is to make it go fast WITHOUT the jets strapped to the roof.

A still standing world record ;) never ever a jet engine-powered railvehicle has run faster.

@grijzepilion, an RDC-3 did 183 MPH once...

Ah yes, the IC3. I've been on one. It's pretty quick. I'm not sure if I think it's ugly, but it's certainly unusual. I prefer the X31, the newer, electric version that also operates in Sweden.

Since when do you need aerodynamics to go fast? Just look up the Danish IC3 DMU - surprised that thing can even move with how ugly it is - but it goes 112 mph - I know - I measured it with GPS the last time I was on one.

I know, but that's very quick for such a boxy, stump railcar with no aerodynamics whatsoever.

Wikipedia says: :steammocking:
Maximum speed 80 to 120 miles per hour (130 to 190 km/h)

And by the way, how does a diesel railcar like this get to be this quick?

I don't know if either of you have ever played Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, but trust me, you do NOT want your trains to break down.

Yes, I know, because of the high number of failures, the SPV-2000 was also called "Seldom Powered Vehicle". That's why only 31 pieces were built. Unfortunately, TPF does not support this feature :steamsad:
donoteat 2017 年 5 月 28 日 上午 10:03
awesome, but for realism, it should break down constantly
