While doing the e-corp mission (download/delete) work, in order to find the backup server you need to decrypt the readme.dec file. But, I didn't have the decypher.exe program yet. Managed to grab it from the script and then continue.

Interesting and fun extension. Got both ends. Took a bit to get to good end, not much in hints on ways to go and when to run the prog, but doable.

Just finished it, that was a great extension thanks Acherrum. I loved all the poking around you had to do.

Managed to solve it on my own... by looking at the mission's script. It's not made very clear that you need to submit BOTH passwords.

Having fun, but I'm stuck on the mission where you have to get the email password of the missing girl. I found it, no problem, but I don't know how I'm supposed to relay that to the person who contracted me. I tried putting it in the additional details of the reply email, and I made sure that it was correct multiple times. No idea what I'm expected to do. Any help?

And now, I was wondering, after 7 tries and 7 times pondering if I should kill myself or continue; I finally did everything but at the end after running ESequencer and having the Bulletin board changed and everything, is there anything else left to do? Like any credits thing or other stuff? Because it's stuck at the Sequencer running and, well, I received the e-mail from Jackson and that's it. I really hope that's the end because I've been hungry for like 13 hours or something now and I need some rest or pancakes to feel better. Thanks anyways!

Seems like it could be great. I accidently chose the wrong "first" mission and got stuck with no tools, but that was probably my fault

Welp, I've managed to scrape of everything now. 10/10 Awesome extention, would recoment any day, all day.

minor bug report: On the JMail mission , theres a typo in the mission info email. The email says the Eos Device password is notAline while the info note say its notAlpine . Thought I'd mention it. :)

I think I softlocked the mod. At the /r/sec missions I did the first two but then I picked up the highschool one before corporate espionage, in which as I understood from the comments, you get the KBTporttest.exe, which is needed to get the SQL cracker, which is needed for the highschool mission. Also I didn't find a way to abort the mission.

@xdmamakkopitiam: that's the worst ending, you got. Basically, you didn't complete the objective within the given timeframe.

if the game said i messed up bad, does that mean i start over or is there something more?

odd ive deleted all the backups for the medical data (cancer cure very funny) yet i cant complete the mission. Guess ill just use the exe to hack other servers while i try to figure it out, any advice?

@essaydestroyer: it seems I might've missed one detail ( adding the file with the password ). I'm not sure if it was missing, but I just pushed an update that should make sure it's there. Hopefully, this fixes your issue/confusion :)

@essaydestroyer: regarding the password, I've just googled a bit to find out how it worked again, then spend like 10 minutes tracing the steps of the missions, to find out how I did this again :P The way it works in the game/extension is: use DEChead to get the computer where the file was originally encrypted. Go to that computer and find the, in this case, encrypt-log.dec. Decypher that one, read the password (key generated) and unlock the file.

@essaydestroyer: I added you, so that I don't give too much away in public.
However, here's something that I will share: After you receive the email from your 'patron', which triggers the final events, you have 15 minutes to solve the final puzzle. There are 3 steps to get the good ending. You will get a hint/direction, for each step.

@Acherrum: where can I find the password to Jackson Peerce's history.dec file? Or do I have to work with the other guy to get a good ending? I lost everything because I didn't know how to stop the hacker who destroyed my UI in time I'd appreciate it if you could point out what I should do next, since I already managed to hack into a lot of the databases ahead of time following some leads from documents I found!

@Pingu57421: I'm sorry that you feel like that. However, with the right mindset, this extension expects a certain curiosity and thoroughness, the extension is rather straightforward (apart from the ending, because it has multiple). Here's a hint: if you read all the BBs and scan all networks, you will unlock a lot of computers. A lot of them are locked behind SQL, but there's one that lets you get in through the medical ports, which will lead to the good stuff. Good luck!

Screw this. THis extension is so poorly made.

I can't progress becuase everywhere has an SQL port and I don't have anything to hack SQL ports with.

@Joaco545 I found it on a different computer - I think it was something liked SoftCorp? SoftTech? and the PC in question was connected to one for an RSEC mission (I think). Or maybe it was a bulletin board PC. Just keep scanning for other computers!

RSEC mission 3, Ecorp, i cant get to the backup, i dont have the tools (Decypher,exe or Dechead.exe) , and i got to the Rockfish Asset Server, and if im good i can find what i need there , but i cant hack it, i need the SQL program, where can i find it? Or it should be unhackeable?

found the DECHead program, now stumped on looking for the backup server. I think the IP address from the ReadMe doc on the eCorp Home File System has something to do with it, but it led me to a bunch of databases, and now I don't know what to do. Should I delete everything I find there?

@Acherrum Uh-oh, looks like I screwed up, then. Guess I'll have to start over. Regarding the hint, however, I presume I'll have to find Decypher.exe , but I don't recall seeing it on any of the PCs I'd gotten into before (like the two journalists' computers, for example). Should I do a different mission first, then?

@essaydestroyer: that is a slightly more difficult mission, you'll have to find the actual 'back up server' and delete the backups from there. You can mess up and lose the information you require if you're not careful. I'll give you a hint: there's a file that you can't read as is, which contains the information you need.

you deleted the logs and the backup right?

Hi, I'm stuck on the mission where you're deleting research files from eCorp at the part where I get the email about the backups. As far as I'm aware, I copied, uploaded and wiped all necessary files from the eCorp machines - so why am I not getting an update to continue/end the mission? Is this a bug, or is there something else I need to do?

So, as promised, I took my free evening and did some patching and playing through the extension - without any more knowledge than any other noob. So, it might be difficult (especially getting the additional hacking tools to progress), but everything is there and you should be able, if you're thorough.

Hopefully some of the complaints and bugs have been fixed. I also added another little easter egg, cause I like those things. There's a hint on one of the existing BBs.

managed to get the you messed up thing to completely corrupt the extension by forkbombing after they got in XP. gonna try a reinstall later and tell you if its fixed though :)

@nice guy: when I say "this is one of them", is that the error message was actually the only way for me to create the 'bad' ending. Although, I'm not 100% sure... As I said, I'll check it out when I find some time this weekend :)

@nice guy: I think that message is one of the endings. The game did not let me succesfully create the 3 different endings that are possible, but I think this is one of them.
I'll have to look back into the files this weekend, to see if the message you are talking about, is the same one I'm thinking of ;)

oh and also delete the index.html in the newspaper server i guess, dont know if that does it

you dont actually leave them a warning i think, you just delete the .dec files and remove logs

how would you solve the first mission? there are not enough hints on what to do. I deleted the contents of both "work" folders on the ips given and deleted the backup on the newspaper site. how wpuld you leave them a warning then? I tried replacing the title of the newspaper website, editing the todo.txt on one pc, even placed new files in every work and backup folder. Scans don't bring up other machines connected, so im pretty positive that's all there is. i can't scan for eos devices now, can i? there's not enough info to match the win conditions... broken af
