Hello Stevieb I was impressed to see your quality work. Are you not working on a workshop anymore? Please reply
Yes, I definitely did laugh! Thank you. Now, Ive built Lisa Vanderpumps stunning former home in Beverly Park. I cant upload it to Cities Skylines though :-(. If you have any tips for importing large files, please let me know. I have some ideas on how to reduce the size, but I've left it alone for a while after being so frustrated!
Also, would you have any Grey Poupon? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwOCOm9Z0YE
:D :D
Regards Stephen
i understand how the dawn would be hard so its ok if you dont make it but could you possibly make an Audi R8? If not how about maybe a Ferrari or a Lamborghini? I would appreciate it if you could start making ''supercars"
Thanks Sharon
Im currently working on a Bentley Continental GT. After that, probably another Rolls Royce. More likely a Ghost. The Dawn, being a convertible, would be very tri heavy due to the interior modelling.
Regards Stephen
Thanks for your feedback. Ive made a few changes:
1. Colours added. Now spawns in White, Black, Burgundy and Dark Blue
2. Number of Tris trimmed down
3. Issue with tyres and rims separating when the vehicle was moving, now fixed.
Thanks Sharon
I did do a colour map, but I wasnt happy with how the other colours looked in game. For example, because of the specular texture, black actually looked like graphite (or dark grey). I didnt do white, because that may look like a wedding car.
If you like, I can easily update file so there are other colours. I did also split the texture, so I can easily release a tuxedo edition. Let me know what you would like, and would be happy to upload to the workshop.
I was only planning to release a white Bentley Continental GT with black grille and wheels. If you think I should release other colours, let me know also.
Regards
Stephen
My aim is to create exceptional assets, not average or typical assets with a tri count of 2500. In doing so, tris may be higher than typical, but overall file size reasonable. As I indicated before, my understanding is that most systems can cope with lots of tris, better than large texture files, so I keep texture files small to compensate for more tris.
a few cars in the workshop have about 7000 tris (i think the ones from cityoftokyo), but 20.000 tris is the most i have ever seen here. when subscribing, i try to keep it under 2500 tris.
Well its not a billboard. The file size is pretty standard for vehicle assets. My understanding is that some systems may struggle with large texture files, more so than tri's. I therefore made the texture files small - 256 x 256. Correct me if I'm wrong, Im not an expert in this field.
StevieB
for real: 20.000 tris might have an impact on many systems and most of the subscribers won't ever "find out" those correlations. you should "warn" them.
