My thoughts are as follows, to my understanding the mot where meant to give you a perfect start in terms of a perfect lineup for your leaders, from that point alone i think the eager trait should follow when you use the hiring edicts. What i find frustrating with the new leader cap mechanics it counts towards each leader type. Dunno if that i something that can be done with a perfect start mod to change how that cap works, when the cap increases you get +1 leader cap for each category instead of 1 global cap increase.

Sorry for keeping everyone waiting, this update is a lot bigger (modding wise) than I first anticipated and that's why it's taking a long time. But I should have a working iteration uploaded soon.

Before GP expansion, everything this mod does at the game start is done in the background. But given the sheer amount of new traits, I decided to let the player pick 2 traits for their starting leaders (researcher, explorer and governor) using pop-up events.

With regards to the leader hiring edicts, the player can choose any 2 traits (as long as the prerequisite are met). I'm debating whether to allow the player to add the eager trait (no leader capacity cost below lv4) for free. Please let me know your thoughts on this or if you have any other ideas.

leaders recruited from the Pool can have 2 starting traits for free 3 if they also have a disadvantage is that something you could re create with the custom leader edict?

My current plan is to incorporate the next balance patch. Since the trait eager will remove the leader cap cost (under level 4), the edicts to hire specific leaders will become 2-stepped, first step is to choose whether the leader is eager or not (free or normal), then select the starting trait.

I will probably also add an on_action event when an eager leader hits level 4, the player will get a pop-up event with an option to add a custom trait that reduces experience gain by 1000% (like the old arrested development trait) so that this leader will stay at level 4 and be "free" for good.

Please let me know if you have any further suggestions.

PDX changed leader cost to unity in patch 3.3, I only mirrored their change.

If you dislike the scaling unity cost so much, you can always just edit the edict file in the mod folder (fairly easy to do).

I really love this mod and have used it quite a bit, but I really hated the change to scaling unity instead of fixed energy for the cost.

I do get that it's probably more balanced that way but IMO, the costs are too high now.

I skimmed through the patch notes, didn't see any change that would mess up the mod, so it should work fine. But I'll double check the codes over the weekend just to be sure.

I assume you're talking about distinguished admiralty? The level cap increase is an empire modifier, which is very easy to add. The starting level is achieved through on_action and on_action event. The game checks your civic when creating the admiral, if the country has the distinguished admiralty civic, it then adds two level.

check 00_on_actions.txt row 2406 and on_action_events_2.txt row 2219.

Do you know in which file the leader starting level in Stellaris is modified? I want the same effect as Distinguished Administration.

While I don't expect anything to come of asking, have you considered adding another edict like the surveyor, governor, and admiral ones for non-genius researchers?
I like this mod a lot and have been using it for a while, but there are a lot of scientist traits and sometimes a trait other than genius can be vital in getting a tech early.
Even if you don't want to consider such change though, thank you for creating and maintaining this mod.

you can fix this by just copying the English localisation file and changing the name&the head line inside the file.If there's only English the players not using English will have lots of .desc in there faces.

The old version works just fine, after the update, all the choices turns to "xxxx.desc", maybe broken translation files? You could copy the old one to here to fix this.

I am using this mod also. And while I like it, its edict cost have an issue -- leader cost is Energy, not Unity. I patched on it locally.

Given the negative comments, I'd like to give my contrasting experience.
Still working just fine on my end at this point in time, at most some insignificant QoL issues where I have to open the Leaders panel twice to see a leader recruited through the edict show up, but no issues of real relevance.

Nor sure what is going on with this mod. It still works on my window 7 box, when I load a saved game (saved on 3.0). I have recently started to migrate to my windows 10 box, and this mod shows up as installed, but does not seem to work. I don't get the genius researchers, nor can I use the edict to recruit a specialist survey scientist. Just Doesn't Do Anything on Win 10. I miss it ....

What do you think about making country edict costs 50 or 100 influence to obtain a genius scientist for more fair gameplay? Like you have to create a special commission that will find a genius for you.

I see, in other Language the mod is not 100% compatible. The text don`t show right in other Languages and the Traits of different Admiral, General or Governor don`t show up.
