It does also change the planet class though
That's completely understandable. Anyways before I say what a Hive-World Earth would look like I would like to say what I imagine Hiveworlds are. Personally, I believe Hive Worlds, in general, is a reference to a X-COM like game by the name of UFO: Aftermath. In that game there is a point where the aliens offer a deal to the commander which resulted in the player getting the bad ending where Earth became covered in a biomass-like substance which made the Earth slowly dying. So I imagine Earth resembling a stellaris hive world with the aspect of that specific Biomass on Earth. That's why I wanted to friend you to show you that bad ending just for you to get a idea.
For a AI-themed Earth, I imagine a Earth with a dried out ocean with large electric cables stringing out to the bottom of the ocean and many other things. Like what happened in the Matrix when Neo sees the "true" Earth.

Perhaps I can give you some ideas for how to make the remaining special-type planets (aka the remaining AI and Hive Worlds) but I would like to tell you in a Private Message VIA Steam.
If you want it gone now, remove common/defines from the mod's archive!
I can definitely imagine a variant of Earth that's just filled with cities, but with the ocean remaining fairly untouched, but I wouldn't think that's for everyone. I'll keep you posted.
However, I'm not really sure about how those work, but surely the city would cover the whole planet so there's not really much Earth to see in it, right?
