@scientist Nope, nope and nope, tunicates are some of the most basal chordates on the planet, the "tadpole" looking thing is it's larval form, people suspect due to it's larval state having a back bone that all modern chordates, those being animals with a back bone, are neotenic and simple stayed as their larval form until evolving into more derived forms like fish and tetrapods.

@Dead Pixel That's the Larvae, I thought you mean't all three since you said "these things" which includes them all, also it's normal for larvae of aquatic creatures to look like sperm, just look at the tadpole.
