understood, thank you
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 12.2.2023 klo 20.08
You can't have more than one equipped at the same time. You would have to mod in a new hat that just looks like it was both hats combined.
Cookie Thug 12.2.2023 klo 19.54
got it do you know of a way to have two items be equipped to the head at once
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 12.2.2023 klo 19.52
Nah, you can only ever have one head item equipped at a time.
Cookie Thug 12.2.2023 klo 19.48
question, does this make it where you can have goggles on face and hats on head at the same time
Saturn's Ring 18.8.2022 klo 1.28
Super grateful for this! Will this be compatible with Cutebound/Make the universe a cuter place?
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 13.3.2022 klo 22.24
Oh yeah. Quite some time ago, I started fixing some of FU's hats that had similar issues to the vanilla ones this mod fixes. I had submitted those fixes to FU's Github page and they merged them in.
the_silver_bandit 13.3.2022 klo 20.03
Gotcha, I just saw the github fix that was submitted
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 13.3.2022 klo 17.35
Yeah, I don't believe Frackin' fixes these hats.
the_silver_bandit 13.3.2022 klo 10.29
Hello, is this still needed if we are using FU?
micmou 15.11.2021 klo 4.31
Ohh I see that is unfortunate.
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 14.11.2021 klo 23.41
The mask can be made perfectly to the shape of the hat, but it can't hide a characters head, only sprites overlayed over the head, like hair, avian beaks, etc.
micmou 14.11.2021 klo 19.52
Isnt there a sprite mask? Is it maybe that the sprite mask just needs a few pixels added to it? Normally games that do this use such a thing to essentially erase the unneeded pixels. I dont see why starbound would be any diffrent.
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 14.11.2021 klo 15.13
Masks only change whether or not hair is displayed, sadly.
micmou 14.11.2021 klo 15.09
Kind of a long shot but is there any chance this could be fixed. https://i.imgur.com/gekkMCX.png
The Pharitu race from FU has a abnormal head size and certain helmets dont mask correctly leading to pixel peek. You can notice it with the hazmat mask in the above image the purple pixels peeking out are the skin color.
tazzan 6.9.2020 klo 19.23
Amazing news, I can finally look like a dunce yet keep my beak!
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 6.9.2020 klo 0.29
I'm a bit late with this, but my fixes were merged in, so all of the FU hats I saw that had those issues are now fixed. :winter2019happybulb:
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 30.8.2020 klo 19.06
I made the fixes for FU helms and Sayter said they will be added in. FU currently has a feature freeze until they finish their new progression system though, so it'll probably be a while before they merge my fixes in. I'll post again when they merge them in.
tazzan 28.8.2020 klo 10.37
It does indeed. One such example is the Dunce hat which gets rid of your facial features when you put it on, much like the hats you fixed
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 27.8.2020 klo 14.42
Does FU have problems with masks? I'll check it out. If I work on a fix, it would be best for me to directly fix FU itself rather than make an addon.
tazzan 27.8.2020 klo 13.33
could you make a version of this for FU?
Boiled Potatoes 24.6.2020 klo 16.22
Welp, gave my floran a beak
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 24.5.2020 klo 14.47
Yeah, the mask files are part of the hats themselves. It doesn't affect non-vanilla hats though.
AlexiSalt 24.5.2020 klo 14.08
does this affect non-vanilla races?
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 31.12.2019 klo 11.01
No, this is only for the hats in the vanilla game.
AbyssStarer 31.12.2019 klo 7.25
Does this also go for FU hats? Like the dunce cap.

Now you can be DJ Grooves.
Sophie the Opossum 29.11.2018 klo 23.23
fair enough
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 28.11.2018 klo 14.12
Sorta. They made their own fixes. My mod has some small differences that I can't remember right now. My mod would have to load after theirs to take effect. You're probably better off just using their mod.
Sophie the Opossum 28.11.2018 klo 4.24
is this included in the starbound patch project?
mglw’nafh fhthagn-ngah 15.9.2018 klo 10.31
Hey man! i wanted to thank you for making this mod and also advice you that the black hood is having the same issue as the afro. Anyways thx!
_H4ZE 1.8.2018 klo 10.16
well when u spawn it with admin its called tricorn hat but its called hornedtricorn
GerbilRex 7.4.2018 klo 16.28
Thank you!!! Now my avian no longer looks like a wierd floran!
spookedtomato 27.1.2018 klo 9.56
That's alright. I completely understand why this can't be fixed. I'm just glad that the issue isn't with any of the cosmetic loadouts that I commonly use.
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 26.1.2018 klo 21.24
Some Skelekin jaws extend further to the front than my masks draw.

I don't think I could fix this, because extending the masks to display their horns would also make other race's hair clip out of the side of helmets. Sorry!
spookedtomato 26.1.2018 klo 19.33
I have subscribed to this, and it doesn't seem to work with custom races (or at least just the Skelekin race mod. I don't know about other custom races). Do you know if this is possible to fix? Also, as a side note, I have Frackin Universe installed, so that may cause an interference due to it changing some of the cosmetic armor items to become armor. Thanks in advance.
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 12.1.2018 klo 17.27
It doesnt add wearable masks for the player characters. It's a bugfix for a kind of file hats in this game uses called a mask. This "mask" tells the game where to draw hair, beards, Avian fluff, and Avian beaks; and where to hide it. Some of Starbound's hats don't have very good mask files, and remove an Avian's face when worn! My mod fixes that.
I love air conditioning 12.1.2018 klo 15.29
i cant craft the avian mask only i can craft the hylolt and floran mask why?
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 21.11.2017 klo 9.37
It only should affect sprites, so there should be no issues in multiplayer. Only people with the mod installed will see its effects though.
Silk 21.11.2017 klo 7.38
Is this client-side?
DrPvtSkittles 26.8.2017 klo 3.04
Fantastic mod
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 10.8.2017 klo 13.44
Yeah, but if Glitch Armor Edits or its variants load last, beards will look shorter. That's the only issue I know that's caused by having both installed at the same time.

You can completley avoid the issue by loading Hat Mask Fixes last.

I forgot about the mask file in Glitch Armor Edits, so the last screenshot on this page shows the "bug"
Dipster 10.8.2017 klo 13.12
is this conpatable with your glitch helmet sprite mods
Cyan Sky Knight  [tekijä] 13.6.2017 klo 15.52
Sorry for the late reply, @OnFireZyGram. I just tested it and it works for 1.3!
Rambler 13.6.2017 klo 13.36
Finally, my birds face will stay in one piece when putting on hats. Thank you very much.
Someone 10.6.2017 klo 6.39
works with 1.3 ?

@vinchenzojackal&shoon Seeing how many mods that fix things in Starbound, and seeing how many of those fixes where added, its most likely possible that this will be fixed, but it is just an asthetic thing.
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 30.3.2017 klo 21.13
An awesome fix that should be added in the next Starbound update!
Probably won't, but you never know, select other modders have had their fixes added in updates...
Until then, I rate up, favorite, and subscribe.
Xaliber 29.3.2017 klo 22.33
Hiya Cyan Sky Night, I have listed your mods to a collection of Starbound Bug & Typo Fixes . Please let me know if there are more bug fixes that can be added to the list.

Thanks for the hard work!
