Honestly the only real pain was the forced rework after the game update one year ago.
I remember that I hesitated a lot on which championship to integrate... Finally it was not the Blancpain (but still it was not supposed to be called "Custom GT Challenge", probably a small bug I didn't notice...).
I touched driver names but not their abilities, for not changing game balance. But if you don't reconize them anymore you have a chance to re-discover this moment when you must investigate pilots! And there are some funny ones ;-)

Great work! This is the mod I've been wanting all these years I've been playing MM on a Mac. I understand the hours and pain you underwent in updating the database though I wish you didn't touch the drivers' names and abilities that I've grown to know by heart. I am currently playing the GT Challenge and noticed that it is called Customs The Championship which I wished could be the Blancpain GT Challenge and the Mercedes AMG instead of the fictional Top Gear team. But don't make me wrong, this is the best I ever had for Motorsport Manger. Again great work!

Personnally I don't plan any update or new mod. It was really a big research work to find all pilots, team managers and all of the teams of 2016. This is a kind of definitive edition ;-)
Nevertheless if anyone wants to try an update I can share my mod.

Is there going to be a 2019 mod like this? Basically, another mod with just the current drivers and teams but without ANY change to the rules/game balance.

No I have no plan to make an update.
For my mod there are mainly 2 parts:
- one is the databases worked with Excel and compiled just in Notepad.
- the 2nd part is the visuals worked with Paintshop and compiled with Unity.
I can share my original files with you, it's not a problem to me. If you only want to update the names, it's very easy if I give you my mod and you just update the excel part.
You can add me in friends and we can speak more by chat if you want.

Hi are you still updating this? if not maybe you are able to provide instructions in how to make a mod, I would like to have a 2018 mod with real drivers / teams / pictures without editing the rules like all other mods here do. so your mod is the best here but unfortunately not updated. Thanks for the comment! I have indeed the same issue. Don't know how I didn't notice that before to publish the update... I'll try to fix that.
The age was already correct for most of the F1 characters, and I didn't modify age for others. I don't think I will do it for others because it slightly modify the balance of the game (charcters have peak age and durations) and I don't think it's so important...
And beside that if I did it, it would be a big work of search and update...

I started a new game with your mod (with Predator), the game crashes after day one, you get an Error popup and the game closes (reproducted multiple times) :-(

By the way - would it be possible to edit the age of the drivers to match real age for a bit more realism? Your mod is awesome because it doesn't mess with races, rules or crazy sponsor payments. But with the correct age it would be so much more realistic. Keep up the good work!

Most "must have" mod

I must look in details. It seems to be only a matter of addind the new DLC lines at the end of the files. If it's just that, it should not be a big problem and I think I will do it...

Any chance of getting this up and running again? This is the exact kind of mod I'm looking for. One that changes only the visuals and doesn't mess with the game engine.

Indeed, the databases don't work anymore, probably because of the last DLC.

I don't know when/if I will have time to rework all the databases, so unfortunately this mod is currently down.

There's no portraits in my mod. You must be confusing with another mod.

I tried downloading this mod, but i only see the correct logo's all livery's are stock.. and some old teams are still present. only F1 has the right names but also not the right livery's. any idea why ?

It's the same in normal game, I have not change any values for that. If I remember right, the new drivers come ~January...

Thanks, no I downloaded the mod and started a new game about a week ago. I've made it similar to before from the livery options the game gave me at the start of season 2 so it's close enough.

I will have to start and finish a new season to see that so I won't be able to totally answer soon.
Nevertheless :
- For the colors, it was supposed to work since the update I published on the 17 Apr. The colors are stored in the database, which is then saved inside your saved game. So maybe you created the campagin before this update ?
- For the livery that's right, but if you don't click on another one, you're supposed to still have the previous one. Once you have clicked on a different one, indeed some are not reachable again. I'm not understanding that all. I might fix that by integrating all those liveries inside the DLC ones.

Played the first season and loving the mod, thanks! I noticed at teh start of season 2 though my car reverted to white and I had to chose from the pre set livery models, and the teams that got promoted/relegated still have their old series car types, ie GP2 car model in F1. Is there a way around this?

Yes you do. Else you'll have a strange mix of modded and unmodded game.

Exactly the mod I'm looking for. Untouched game balance / rules in combination with real names and liveries (though Pirelli tires would be so nice for just a bit more of immersion ^^) .

I've overwritten many but it seems that yes all the original ones still appear at the creation step. And you can also find the Rally Cross liveries when you create your team which in my opinion look very good on Formula one :-)

oh and one more thing, is this compatible with the "create your own team" DLC? Can you make your own team with this mod and choose the default liveries for your team? or are they overwritten with your liveries so you have to choose one of the real team liveries? thank you

Yes they are all untouched. I changed only graphic elements and names, and nothing else. I take really care about that point.
