A better way to explain it is this simple image [puu.sh], though these aren't the actual VPKs associated with the two add-ons, this is just for example's sake.

If you mean by forcing it for other people, no. Only the downloaders can do this. But in the addonlist.txt, it will always add newly subscribed add-ons to the bottom of the list. Workshop addons are all number-names, so you may need to find it in your workshop folder, but all you'd need to do is make it so that the vpk for this addon is at least one slot before the full model replacement. This is only if you subscribed to the model first however & need to fix it. Otherwise, to avoid hassle the first time, you'd subscribe to this first , then the model second . Of course, you could always just unsubscribe from both then redo your subscription, which I'd advise for most people before they mess up their add-on orders.

Huh that is very interesting, do you know exactly how could I make it so that the addonlist thing loads this before the actual mod?

Or is it a matter of subscribing to this first and then to the base mod? It'd really help to know more about this before I go ahead and work on the fixes for the other characters

Actually, in most cases, you can still use this 100% from the Workshop without moving anything to the root add-ons folder; In fact, if both add-ons are there, there can still be problems. All people would have to do to make it easier for them is to subscribe to this first, then the actual replacement. Because of how add-ons work, it'll load this add-on's materials first instead of the original's. All it really is is the load order, which you can even change without subscribing in a certain way through the addonlist.txt in the game's folder. Just make this show up before the original mod, & it should work as intended.
