if you happened to blindly sub to surface tension overhaul and alternate hivehand location, you'll get the disabled AI bug once you load the tripmine area (for me, this was after leaving the room with the scientist who lost his nerve because of all the explosives). to fix, delete this addon (its name is something like 1.5-hivehand) and load the previous map. this is notable because you won't be able to take jackson, the security guard getting chased by two soldiers, with you if you complete the map with the AI disabled. i don't know how BMS classic interacts if you've subbed to that instead of STO, but i'm gonna guess it's a similar issue

the surface tension overhaul (and surface tension BMS Classic) both do the same thing as this mod. no need to subscribe to this as well.

Unfortunately the mod doesn't work after update to Definitive Edition. When the map is loaded, I get message "Graph node out of date ... rebuilding" and another one "A.I. disabled" after reloading from the last save point.

it makes more sense considering their was a explosion of some kind that defintly couldnt have been in the explosve filled warehouse.

That makes sense. Personally I never cared much for the hivehand and skipped collecting it in the original game. Thank you for making this mod; the special dialogue from the guard is well worth it.

It was a gameplay-related design decision

Having the player pick up the Hivehand in the elevator effectively gives them a chance to use it against the two soldiers at the lower level and figure out more quickly how the new weapon works.

This placement basically robs the player of that learning opportunity in favor of getting to hear the guard react to the Hivehand pickup animation

This small change is such an improvement that I honestly don't understand why it wasn't incorporated into the base game.

when I open the computer to reach the base where the exploded rays are before the gate opens the game is turned off by itself

Not only did this let me actually pick up the Hivehand again, but it also fixed my broken explode-y lazer room! This is a must have fix, great work! The BMS team should really add this in to the vanilla game.
