Will this be coming out for TpF2?

So, i noticed the sound for this is a diesel engine..... So i edited the game file for this to use the aircraft_jet_old sound file that the comet uses..... Oh man that bought a smile to my face, makes it sound like a jet turbine then :)

I really hope a 3rd gen comes to exist, that would be perfect :)

Love this mod, one of my most used freight engines, any chance we will see the 2nd and possibly 3rd generation models

If you could just make the 1st Generation GTEL colorable and use the logos from the game as that fits my expectations better, then that would be amazing! Love these locos but it's just that they are railroad dependant.

It's a interesting Loco. I'll put it on my long list. Also the GTEL Version B + C are not "out of the race". Just have some other project's iam working on.

Maik. Yeah your right, I just assumed the A unit was the same frame/body. Its not at all! Would you consider it though as a future project?

Also have you seen the GTEL Coal Turbine? This would make a nice addition to the game. The A unit is a standard Alco PA-1.

Sorry, no that's not planned, because it's not just some small tweaking. The only thing that fits from the front part of the locomotive is the nose, the whole Lok is a bit shorter, has different bogies, different roof structures and a different frame. Also the turbine part # 2 must be completely built and a new tender. That would be as like as 2.8 new modells.

Any chance of doing the Union Pacific GTEL 8500 HP "Big Blow". It would only mean small mods to the primary unit here and a B unit.

It's kinda crazy to think that this has more horsepower than some modern locomotives, though nowhere near the efficiency.

Haha well it kinda works from a realism perspective too, diesel engines would have and do carry fuel, although perhaps not in a seperate wagon. Anyhow, love your mod, looks and works great! Thanks for sharing it!

The 1 fuel has to do with TPF "logic". The game crashes when you have a vehicle (wagon or locomotive) that has neither engines nor goods. Since I had to bring the locomotive for other reasons as a multiple unit into the game, counts the tender as a wagon and needed a payload (or engines) I have decided for 1 fuel ;)

The model looks fantastic, but I'm curious as to the tanker, it accepts fuel but only one unit... I'm assuming it isn't actually meant to be used with fuel?

If you want an example of how it would look, you should check out the GP9 Union Pacific repaint - the UP livery looks great no matter what color ;)

It's intentional that there is no option for a color change. Union pacific locomotives are yellow, always;)

Finally made it to the mordern ages in my game and got to use these. Amazing job - very cool train :) Would like to have color options, but hardly the end of the world since the default yellow is nice.

Maybee the 2nd gen it's just a bit of rework. At the moment I have the 3D-Modell for the GE U50 (Southern Pacific) nearly finished .

ok, im just gald to see some modders making american stuff, i look forward to seeing those other projects;) the Gtel ingame is great, i love playing right around the 30s-70s because the biggest steam enignes are present and the diesels are taking over, i figured making them now wouldnt be possible, but i was hoping down the line sometime as both of those to engines seemded to represent the top of there types in style and power

@michweid you can write english to if it is easier for you. I have never made a Steam-Loko, the PRR 6200 looks interesting but I have some other projects running ;) The 3rd. Gen GTEL is a near complete rebuild, so at the moment im happy to present the 1st gen.

Thanks to the user 'Lange' from TransportFever-Forum, I have located the issue with ctd at loading screen and have fixed it.

But it looks like there are some german people have the problem to. I have posted in the forum that she should give me the information, i have to wait for answers. For me the GTEL works fine. So I can't fix that don't happened on my TPF.

Unfortunately my German is almost non existant so I cannot even work out which thread I need in the forum on Transportfever.net but I too am having issues with the game crashing upon loading with this mod activated.
