The reason the scope is soo dirty is because of the reticule, this merely changes that texture.

People were crashing because they had improper settings or configs, or more often than not did not understand that you should not install every mod under the sun or else face game issues.

Not really, nah. Have you tried revalidating game files? This mod does nothing that should cause the game to crash, it only makes the scope texture different (replaces an image with another image).

Another thing that can cause this is a faulty cache. Try revalidating game files.

Also, if you have any other mods that do some wonky graphical settings tweaks AND also overrides some textures, that might cause a conflict and game crash.
