The thing is food items are added a lot in mods, and the vanilla game has loads of them already, so the fortune cookies might be hard to find by excess. At least they are low in fat.

The vampire skilltree gets these messages on eating food attempt. I was thunking about using that for fortune's. Just no idea how to make the messages random like "Your fortune is to *Climb* *the wall* of *Tears* *during* *midnight*."

Hmm, you'd think adding a script to randomly display pre-written 'fortunes' on pickup would be simple to do, if it isn't already in the game.

You could do what Lccorp2 did with his Dinner item and have it spawn a message at the player's feet that can be read but has no function other than getting lutefiskded. A more roundabout way would involve spawning a hostile monster that has a 100% chance to kill itself on first cast where that casting writes fortune text to the console. That would be extremely silly and will fail sometimes, like how gas canisters survive and follow you around.

Do these have kooky (ha!) messages inside? Like the ones in Shadow Warrior? Either way, well done! These are something that ought to have been included in the original content, so it feels like a natural addition to the game.

Adding a random bad fortune could help bilance them, if you think they are op.
I didn't tried it yet since i'm running a vampire, so no food for me.
