stop watch?

@minusfivestars the mod isnt getting updated anymore

-The Time Reducer effects will not apply to the Blue Womb until Isaac reaches Womb/Utero/Scarred Womb, where the effects will be the same once Isaac activates the item while in said floors
-If used 3 times while in Womb/Utero/Scarred Womb, the item will disappear and Blue Womb will not appear at all in the current run
->In return, a Watch Battery trinket will spawn next to Isaac

For interactions:
-Using a ? Card with Time Reducer will count as using the Time Reducer item
-When used alongside with Book of Virtues, it will spawn 12 middle ring Stop Watch wisps each with a good amount of health
->If one of these wisps were to be extinguished, it will cause a "Stop Watch" effect for that room until it is cleared or when Isaac leaves it
->After the 3rd use, the Book of Virtues can still be used as normal while the Time Reducer is disabled, and after the 6th use the item will disappear as normal and leaving Isaac with just the Book of Virtues

Main point of this item should be that if you mess with Time too much, there will be effects that Isaac may not like.

Make this item have a 4 Quality rating and with different mechanics
-12 room recharge, 6 total active usage
-Item Pool: Item Room, Shop, Crane Game
-When first picked up it halves your run time by up to 5 minutes
-If Time Reducer is used the first time, it once again halves your run time by up to 5 minutes, however your chance of getting the Boss Rush arena to appear is reduced by 20%
-If it's used again before reaching the Boss Rush arena, the chances for it to appear is once again reduced, where there will be a 60% chance of it appearing
-Using it again once more will set the run time back to 0, but the item will "temporarily break" and cannot be used until Isaac reaches the Womb/Utero/Scarred Womb
->As a consequence, this will disable the Boss Rush from appearing at all in the current run and forces the "I'm Excited" effect for the rest of the Chapter

This should definitely be updated.

If you go to a shop and you find that blue hourglas thing but first you use te time reducer and then you use the hourglas, what will be the status of the time?

@nekadnow All mods for Rebirth on steam community are made specifically for only Afterbirth+. If you look on the right, Required DLC are Afterbirth and Afterbirth Plus.

Does this only work with Afterbirth+? If not, I have to have the worst luck in history. After 200+ playthrough I have seen it exactly zero times.

@Shlem Mama Mega already does that, open Hush and Rush doors after the time limit is over

This mod has been testing with other mods, and not cause problems to set time 0.
(The vars not are equal TimeFrame, TimeCounter)

make it so you can't use it until 5 minutes and 1 second has passed, so it won't break other mods, and it'll be a pretty cool mod.

For example some mods reset all stats and variables upon the timer frame being 0 and using the timer when the time hasnt reached 5 minutes could cause that mod to function incorrectly

You might as well just have an item that opens hush door and boss rush, an item that reduces run time is kinda pointless, and causes any game time events to execute twice.

I don't understand why this mod annoys people. Boss rush and the hush fight are BOTH time sensitive. If someone plays the game 'slow and steady', they might never get to see or experience those fights. This mod just kinda helps those people out. It's not as though it helps with the unlocks, so it doesn't really affect anyone else if someone chooses to use it.

Its a cool mod and all, but It kind of defeats the purpose of having a timer in the first place.

Meh why tho? Guess cheat workshop items like this are for those who aren't good enough to burn through boss rush and hush in one sitting, cus I've never fought hush without first killing the Rush on a perfectly normal game.

this item is good for getting to boss rush BUT FOR THE UNLOCK TO WORK YOU NEED MODS OFF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I don't know. Personally, I feel like the run time shouldn't be messed with, especially when it comes to speedruns.

@A lazy engineer It shouldn't open those that are closed, just avoid closing them in the first place. So, at minute 21 you wouldn't be able to enter, but at minute 19 you could use the item to be at 14 minutes. 5 minutes later, the door would still be open.

Animation please

I can forsee this as a good item to have when your going for boss rush, but still want to backtrack for items.

Suggestion: Make a giantbook animation for when you use it that might look the same like the workshop thumbnail, it will look good and be more interesting

Me parece interesante la idea de reducir el tiempo de juego, pero dejar el valor fijo en 5 minutos me parece un error. ¿Quizá que dependa de la cantidad de items que lleva el jugador? No se, algo así. Y alguna sinergia o transformación especial con otros items de la temática como stop watch estaría brutal.

What if there was an alternate version that was "Time = $$$!" and the more money you have when you use the item the more time gets reduced, or something like that?

To nerf it a bit, perhaps it shouldn't open closed boss rushes or blue wombs after the timer has reached 20' or 30'.
Another nerf could be that it were a chargeable item, much like Eden's soul, so you would need 6-12 rooms to charge it (or a couple of batteries)
A different approach -more powerful in my opinion- would be that it halves the timer, so it's more powerful near the time limit and less powerful before the 10 min mark.

Nice item anyway, hope to see it in the game soon.

I think it'd be better in the shop, as a passive, and if it reduced the timer immediately by 2 minutes instead of 5. 5 seems a bit too strong, like it would be a free attempt at boss rush everytime I saw it in a shop.

Or maybe it could make it so the timer just runs slower for the rest of the run, that might feel cooler.

hmm maybe instead of one time use you could add it as a passive that chips of time depending on performance. (killing x amount of enemies, completing levels etc.)

Muy buen item, el mejor de los 5, espero que lo añadan al juego por que te puede salvar muchas runs que quieras limpiar un poco más por que vas débil pero quieras ir al boss rush o hush

I feel as if this would be a better passive item that just lowers your time by 5 mins, but cool anyways
