The lords take a similar drop in stats with both the Bret Lords and the Warbosses, so it produces the same kind of frustration. I just happen to hate watching stats drop ever lol

The Griffons all have the Causes Terror trait, don't they? That trait is very powerful if used correctly. In addition, I thought that the Griffon-mounted lords/ heroes had a higher percentage of their damage as Armor-Piercing (which is dealt regardless of the opponent's armor value). I could be wrong, and I'm not going to check it right this moment, but it might be food for thought.

Realized that Malachite mentioned the Armor-Piercing bit already after I typed it out.

Some of that is probably luck; I did my own test with two amber wizards, and the one on a griffon broke his target in the time it took the other to chop off a quarter of their health, and the griffon was quite visibly striking lots more targets. I also tested four seperate Generals, two on pegasi and two on griffons, with similar results.

Some of it is probably the units you tested it on; one benefit of the griffon is that it much more heavily weights a characters damage towards armour piercing, so you won't get the most out of it throwing it at a bunch of squishies like orc boyz.

well I tried it in custom against some orcs and the pegasus mount got about 50% more damage against the orcs, so I dont know if I fully agree

Griffon mounts are actually better though, it's just that the buffs aren't immediately obvious. They give more HP, mass (for knockdown on charges) and a larger AoE on attacks. So, you're a bit less likely to hit any one person with an attack, but you'll hit a lot more people.
