Minutes of extra load time seems excessive. Definitely not normal. It's maybe a second slower for me.

I started a discussion titled Video edit which removes moons (video file + instructions) . Like the title suggests, I did a video edit to create a version without the 2 moons because they bothered me. All I am sharing is the edited video. I hope it is okay. If asked to, I will take it down.

Unity's In-Engine Video Playback has only a handful of compatible codecs and they are really bad... The mod is already huge even with the bad quality :(

Unfortunately this looks very bad on 4k, and displays incorrectly with UI scaling.

That's a shame. Then again, quality of planets isn't that big of a deal, and the ship can be forgiven. It is still a very decent and solid mod.

unfortunately, no. Unity is pretty picky with it's video codec, and having this video in high quality (in a compatible codec) would be like a 2gb download...

This does not work in A17. It's not a simple XML mod as it uses a DLL to make this effect work. Unfortunately, DLL mods usually have to be recompiled for each new version.

The encoding I have to use sucks, so the vid is low res and big. We'd get best results directly rendering the background scene in 3d but that is a whole other level of difficulty for a mod, unfortunately.

well, seems ok, but… heavily modded game already crashes because of its 32-bit architecture, so now I prefer to think twice if I need a mod or I could live without it.
