OK test. Nothing all that hard.
Excellent game. Challenging and fun.
Not bad at all, good moving of the cubes and using everything in the map. Thumbs up
This one was an OK test. It isn't your best work that I have played so far, but it is good enough and better than most.
Nicely done. Great map! Logical and fun! Thanks!
Nice enjoyable map.Thank.

Great map this and I think there is no reason to complain about the ways of solution. There are so many test here where you have to transport a cube through cages from the outside.

Hey guys, just finished making my very first Test Map, and would love some feedback.

I finished the map, and I felt that the physics was "fair," as long as the player is aware of the fact that (possible spoiler, but I think it's supposed to be a "known fact of the game") When Chell picks things up, she doesn't actually reach out and hold objects with her hand. Rather, there's some electrical activity coming from the end of her portal gun, and that electrical field is what's picking things up.

So, Curilee's complaint, from December 2012, actually helped me solve the puzzle! :-)
As a general rule, I am not happy with puzzles that kind of "mock" the physics of the real world. However, specifically, in response to Curilee's complaint about the "bug" in the game -- where the player can manipulate objects on the other side of a grate...

I used to feel exactly the same way, but a friend reminded me that you can pretty clearly see that Chell is not actually reaching out and holding objects with her hand. Rather, there's some electrical activity coming from the end of her portal gun, and that electrical field is what's picking things up.

So it does seem reasonable that she can move things on the other side of a grate, although it is definitely a learned behavior!

I liked this map. It was not easy to solve the first part, but I thought it was a novel puzzle that does belong, unlike a few of your other puzzles. The second part was straight-forward.

Evil, pure evil, pure evil genius!
Loved it. And no, you don't have to throw the cube.
Awful. Probably the worst of this collection. Tell me, if I was a human (such as Chell), how could I possibly hold onto and slide a large cube on the opposite side of a grate??? I wouldn't. So I shouldn't be able to in here. Again, cheating by exploiting a "bug" in the game engine. Not logical, so not a good puzzle. Sorry. I'm stopping here, not finishing the rest of your collection since you don't play fair : (
I don't get the Tetris reference either.
Hey loved the map. Thank you for this map!
I've got a map of my own I'm trying to get out there a bit, try it and leave a comment :)

Strategy 4: Knockoff

Nice chamber, but why is it called Tetris?
I dont know... maybe I just got lucky, but I solved both parts in less than 10 minutes.

Would be great if you could test and comment one of my chambers as well!

I didn't see the Tetris resemblance because I wasn't looking for it, lol. Just wanted to play the chamber. It was enjoyable. A bit of thinking was involved and that made it fun. Good job.
Rewas 2012
That was... hard

very good thank you !!

Great job Romb. Great puzzle.

If any of you want to try my puzzles and have me test yours, add me as a friend.

HINTS Room #1:
1. Getting the cube to the button is solvable. It does not require any advanced throwing techniques (just correct portal placement)
2. The light bridge is ONLY used for getting the cube. It is not used for getting the cube onto the funnel.
3. (if you are desperate) For getting the cube onto the funnel, AT FIRST, you should have only one portal active (before you activate the second one). Instead of having two portals simultaenously.

HINTS Room #2:
1. The player does not need to go through the fizzler. The fizzler only needs to be shut down for a few seconds, rather than for the entire time.
2. For the upper platform, the author uses grating rather than glass. There is a certain property that grating has that glass doesn't. Try to figure out what it is.
3. (if you are desperate) Related to hint #2. Also, think about why the button on the platform's purpose is to reverse the funnel.

@UnCommentator - you don't need to throw the cube onto the faith plate ;-)
never mind. i got it. genius. it took me a very, very long time but definitely one of the most rewarding puzzles out there!!! for those who want to know, here is a hint: go back to basics, having everything, is nothing, having nothing, is a start.
can someone give a hint? I know throwing is not the proper way to complete the puzzle :(
Couldn't get the second part. Gave up.
holy crap i mustve had the longest brain fart on figuring out how to get the second cube... welll done.
Quirky View 2012
This is awesome, the first part having to throw the cube on the faith plate and somehow stay on the button was almost impossible for me but i beat it and your awesome.
In almost all cases, fizzlers frustrate players, forcing to press buttons to recieve cubes or open portals or, so forth. But players can not proceed without using the fizzler in this puzzle :)
The map was good, but how the hell does this map, even remotely, resemble a game of tetris?
Really nice map Romb! Thank you!
i've haven't been this frusterated by a test chamber in a while. thank you. that was very satisfying
Captain Slow 2012
Really nice map collection. Thank you ROMB.
But I´m stuck to get the cube on the spring.
A little hint is welcome...

Very enjoyable puzzle ROMB. No throwing necessary "Crash". Just think a little longer :)
So yeah..i thought that my own puzzle chamber i did was clever, but man...your mind is on another level. I liked and commented all your chambers so far and I hope you won't stop making them. Valve should hire you. :)

Anyway, here are the pics that maybe give a better understanding...or maybe not:

I finished it, but i'm still confused as f***. I'm pretty sure I didn't solve the first half of the puzzle as intended, since i invented a move of my own to surpass this evil conundrum. I call it the 'dice throw', which requires you to hold the cube in angled position for it to land further after a running throw. Basically, what i didn't get was the area around the entrance (which i didn't use), so after many failed attempts I managed to throw the cube onto the spring and back myself to the pressure plate just in time for it to pass the portal into the funnel without a harm. . It was pretty hard to pull off, but i was desparate and couldn't figure out the correct method. I will add some pictures in my follow up comment.. (1000 char limit)

Quite enjoyable. Everything is used and there for a reason.
solved it, nice
I enjoyed very much. Excellent map, as usual from you.

I ran into the same issue reported by Dr. Worm, so I restarted and then quick saved from time to time, as you suggested.

You should give a try to my map "Dilemna"
cheers
Really good map, the only problem I had was I got the laser cube stuck on the laser/button platform. A pedestal button might fix it, but that also might eliminate a step of the puzzle.
Aykut ( Dreamer) 2012
ehh before i forgot it. Please, try these chambers. http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/profiles/76561198047961117/myworkshopfiles/
Aykut ( Dreamer) 2012
i woud use glas for forcing the portalble plate, where the lightbridge hits, only. and you dont need to place water to the entrace in the next room or the lightbridge, but for design its good. I like this map, too.
