It seems that the rings move over time, like it's part of the cloud layer. Is it possible to stop this?

its an issue that some people are reporting, while others aren't. I'm going to create a new model when I get time that will fix it.
When I made this, I didn't run into the issue testing it on me and my wife's computer - slipped through the cracks

why are the rings cube?

Also, this is the *OLD* version. The new version, which I posted the link to in the description is much different.

If you are using this version, the fact that there's no working atomspheric damage effect is also a tip off to it being outdated, significantly.

The rings in this version are different from the planet, but they do look really similar. With my update, I've made some significant changes to the color gradients of the clouds and of the rings, so its more distinct, but I'm not happy with the look of the rings, ignoring the lack of a division between the rings due to the alpha channel issue as mentioned before.

I have an updated version of the mod, with some fairly noticeable changes. The actual model of the 'rings' is a single disk, which uses an alpha channel for transparency, which gives the impression of there being multiple separate rings. That's how the original mod accomplished this. However, there's been a lot of changes to how textures are done and with planets themselves, all of which aren't properly documented by Keen, so all of us modders are trying to figure out what the hell half of the new values that they added actually *do*.

Once I get that figured out, and have the time (just got a new job - yay!) I have an updated version thrown up.
Like usual, I can't give a release date on this. When I get it done, I'll get it posted ASAP.

@Jacof33 I'm going to *try* to get a hold of vorneus to see if he could send me a copy of the file and I'll get it up and working again. As far as I'm aware, there's no other version hosted anywhere else. If I can't get a hold of him, I'll look into recreating them myself, but my skills at doing texture work is trash.

I've gotten GHOSTXV's permission to continue work on the various planets that they made. I will be updating them to fix various issues, such as pink textures, missing texture assets, and bad names of files in the configs.
Keep in mind, there's a load of planets that I need to fix, and I'm currently trying to balance mod work and getting my work situation squared away.

I tried to setup Saturn with rings but I have no luck - only strange clouds. Is it possible to get a fixed version?

Nope, installing the Skyrings folder from the clouds modpack made it work perfectly. Rings and all.

i took the rings off i not sure if i did mention that. But saturns sky should work you dont need the sky texture mod i will be removing that mod soon. a few months back they updated S.e and you can now add your sky texture to the planet but the rings wouldnt work for some reason so i removed them but i havent played S.e in a long time. I took a turn into game development learning script and dont have alot of time i do plan on coming back to modding S.e again but i wont be for a bit yet i do apologive for the long waited answers

Well just with the steam installation service, it puts a box around the planet. I can't find the "Skyrings" folder in the mod directory, so I haven't tried it the way the description says to install it.

also i know ring arnt working i will be removing it soon to update it. ive been alittle busy of late but once i get free time i will be working on old and new planets

just load saturn mod into new world, when in world press shift+ f10 the planet should be in list the sky has been added to the planet files no need for the sky texture mod

The rings are not working and your link if not working. Plus, as a suggestion, could you format your descript to be a little more informative and clear titling, is it very messy.

Can confirm, everything in this mod works perfectly.

the ring mwm is in my skytexture mod ive also tested this and it seems to be working theres also a video in my screenshots above that will help you install the rings and sky but some skys arnt working on certain planets
