Thanks for the help! Was able to get the effect I wanted from editing the index.html file.

I had to have a look as I haven't worked on this in years. To answer the question; no, there is no option to change that black color. And to be honest, I don't think I would be adding the option any time soon though.

However with a bit of work you can configure it to be anything you want and hope that helps. To do so:
- Right click on the wallpaper and select "Open in explorer"
- Then open the index.html file with notepad or some other basic text editor.
- Go to line 15 and you will find "color: black;" You can change the color there.

Examples could be to replace "black" with:
- transparent or red or yellow or white etc ( common colors only )
- #FF00FF ( hex notation)

- rgb( 255, 0, 255 ) ( values are red, green, blue and between 0 and 255 )

- rgba( 255, 0, 255, 0.5 ) ( added alpha which is value between 0 and 1 to make it semi transparent )

Great job! Love this for my second monitor. Sorry if I'm blind, but is there any way to change the color of the clock when using custom color? A different color than the black font with red glow would be better in my case. Thanks!

@Furr.ix .. If you are using Win 10 version 2004 ( 20h2 ) or higher, you can now use the WE beta or wait for an update. Then under WE settings in the general tab, near the bottom there is an option "Use high-precision times". If you turn that on the 21fps goes back to 30fps as it should with audio data. This affects all audio wallpapers of the type webwallpaper and will increase how often the audio data updates.

@Furr.ix just a small update. Seems your and my system are not working as intended as the audio data updates should be near the 30fps. The dev is going to try and help out to find what is going on.

@Furr.ix .. It used to be 28fps but for some reason WE only gives back audio data at 21fps now. I can make a post in community asking why that was changed. However as for the lower FPS than 60 see this reply I gave years ago: "The wallpaper might lock to ~28fps which is the rate it receives audio data at from WE and it avoid rendering the same identical visuals twice, but if you have enabled effects that would visually benefit from higher frame rates ( like particles ) it will go higher."

for some reason i cant seem to get it to run above 21 fps, even though i have it set for 60 fps in my settings and lowering the quality it doesn't change. weirder is that if i turn on particles fps displays a higher fps but its still runs at 21. it used to work fine, maybe its because i changed monitors? i was using a crt but i changed it for a more modern one

@Barlogov I never put in many color options. You can go to the color settings on the right ( just above where you can enable the clock ) and select to override the default colors. This however will change all colors and not just the clock.

The visualizer functions normally when I'm in the middle of a song but when a song ends then the visualizer goes crazy for a second. Is that normal?

@sheep It pretty much is the default settings. It was very small though, as that it was exactly the size on my screen as it is in the gif.

But this should approach it:

Reset the settings if you have changed them ( Reset button is at bottom of the settings ) then

1. Change Radius 2 to 0 to remove 2nd ring
2. Change Detail Level to 3
3. Go down the settings to just above half way and raise the glow size

optionally:
1. Tweak Height 1 setting at the top
2. Change glow strength
3. Tweak volume scale ( changes how emphasized peaks are )

@D4NY0N FPS is linked the framerate the wallpaper gets audio data at, except if certain features are used. If you have your framerate high in WE's settings, then in this wallpaper you would have to enable the particles or some of the bass effects to get a higher framerate. This is because the basic audio visualization only updates when it receives new audio data. It will not re-render the same identical frame nor does it interpolate data to create extra frames.

How to increase fps?

If you open the wallpaper browser window and have this wallpaper selected, scroll all the way down in the wallpaper's settings on the right hand side of the window. At the bottom you will see some options to save presets locally, share them, or "Browse presets" where you can find many different configurations to pick from. I hope that helps?

Seriously, I highly appreciate that but I wouldn't bother you about that any more since adding that 237mb gif alone causes the fps to go halved no matter what the settings are so I'm gonna go with black background. tbh it looks better for me with black background and glowing rgb rings running at 25fps

I see .. Well what I could do quickly for you is to edit the gif if you could link the original and add some black padding so it fits a a bit better on full screen. Those FPS numbers aren't that great though, you have it set to low? Multiple screens?

well, basically I use the gif from "Retrolizer" and your "Rainbow Rings" for my potrait monitor. In "Background Size" section of your mod only has "Cover" and "Fit" while the Background Fill Style of "Retrolizer" inlcudes "Center" that fills my portrait monitor nicely and doens't make the sun fill the whole width of my monitor. Here are some screenshots, I think this is the better way to show what I mean. TBH after looking at all 3 pics I've taken, I would suggest a zoom slider as the wallpaper is always centenred as you said

I don't think I've ever written a review before, but this is absolutely fantastic .
Favorite steam app/workshop combo ever.

Has been my wallpaper for nearly a year now. If you're thinking about getting this, do it. You can deck it out with every custom option and feature you could possible think of.

Definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made!
