Python User version doesn't appear to exist anymore. Does anyone have an updated release?

That new upload seems to have added a new... well I guess let's call it a "feature" that causes flammable things to ignite near the rod. Which is a problem, since conduits are generally flammable.

I haven't tested it yet, but in English what Python User is saying is that he has updated it. New mod name is "Lightning Rod 避雷针". Assuming this works, thanks Python User!

Since the original author is no longer updating it, I tried updating this mod to 1.1. I just don't know enough. Maybe somebody else can get it to work. It's mostly done, but it throws an error on load. You can build/install the Lightning Rod, but it doesn't attract lightning or prevent fires as it is supposed to. I just disabled the 'parallel conduit' MOD then lightning rod worked. It connected to my power line again. If you also installed 'parallel conduit', you could try to disable it first.

I don't use it but I do use parallel conduits and I removed it and it still did it. Heck, I launched the game with only the lightning rod mod installed and it still wasn't working.

That's what I asked myself at first, but HCSK = Hardcore SK Mod pack, some searching later and various places listed but one on ludeon forum [ludeon.com] shows this mod under the name "Lightning Rod". I didn't do much else on how it worked or how to install it. The clue to me came from one of the comments in the parallel conduit thread. I temporarily disabled it and this mod worked again. Posted a comment and author updated and now this works. I can't really help more if you still can't get this mod to reconnect but I just wanted to post how I managed to get it working again.

I had the "not connecting" issue as well but this has now been fixed. I use parallel conduits and the mod author had changed a part to be compatible with HCSK. I don't use HCSK but use this one instead and it was broken, so perhaps if others with broken connection, I'd suggest you check your parallel conduits or perhaps HCSK updates. Thumbs up for this mod as mega useful. Thanks!

I'm another who is having problems with connecting to power lines. For me the option to reconnect doesn't even show. I've played with load order and with and without the Selected Reconnector mod.

What is the range at which it can draw lighting?

Same issue as other users reporting ... rod can't / won't connect to power lines :-( I've moved mod around in load order but hasn't resolved.

So I've used this mod for a long time and like it a lot. However, I do have a small suggestion. Perhaps there could be some sort of visual indicator as to the rod's current power level? I have an awful habit of turning the rod's power level up for thunderstorms, then forgetting all about it while it happily devours my power supply.

This mod is a HUGE help for my bases. I use mods to alter map generation, sometimes there's little open land, so lightning will usually strike in any clearings inside the moutain. Watching my colonists constantly running around and fighting fires was too much.

I just had lightning strike my oil drill, tank, and refinery. That fire took an in game day to put out. Should have had this.

It doesn't seem to be working in b19. I have placed ~10 rods around the map so far but not a sigle one have been hit with a lightning.
