You can use pretty much any software that can export transparent PNGs. Paint.NET , GIMP, Photoshop, ClipStudioPaint, FireAlpaca, or even free online editors like Piskel [www.piskelapp.com]

I've been aware of the potato (I'm even referenced in its main.lua) and it's what I based this off of, but it has some shortcomings so I decided to release my own version.
