...I'm fairly convinced that the only reason the arcade had custom survivors was so that the old survivors wouldn't have to be modified so they could have different legs, torsos, heads, and hats (which the arcade survivors are capable of having). However, I would like to believe that these survivors are still in cannon, just not the paths they took.
I propose the creation of custom campaigns which have the arcade survivors replacing the L4D2 survivors and the stock weapons with weapons from the arcade and include scripts to have them function like they did in the arcade.
I know I'm a little late to the conversation, but I don't think adding custom firearms (in addition to the ones we already have) is possible. However, I have a proposal.
I remember hearing about a mod for the Magnum that turned it into a six shot revolver and a script which made it fire six shots instead of its usual eight before needing to be reloaded. The one limitation I remember hearing about that was that it can be used in multiplayer.
I'm not sure if it would work or not, but what if we made custom campaigns which had the models, the animations, and scripts for the arcade weapons replacing the weapons already in the game?...
Phobia of law, perhaps?
Why would you make such assumptions? He's not going to sell it or anything.
Someone buy this and rip the models!
