can't wait! If it does work, would you at least update the mod's localization to say that?

Also, does it grant the "latent psionic" trait to the species? If not, it should! (You could even make a balanced version that doesn't unlock the psionic theory, but just grants the trait, great for your materialist empire!)

Wow, I completely forgot about the existence of this mod. I'll look into updating it over Easter, if one is actually necessary - no work and no people around to bother me makes Liara a happy Liara.

Of course, it could still work anyway! You never know.

Hey there, would you be willing to consider adding some sort of small bonus alongside guaranteeing Psionic Theory? While I very much like ensuring that I can get my psykers, it's also coming at the cost of another trait and its respective bonuses.

Alternatively, if you are uninterested in this idea, may I use this mod as a base to try and expand upon?

Would it be possible to change the version number to 2.0.x or 2.0.* so it is recogniced by the launcher as a fully updated mod? Thanks for the mod.

Great mod! Sometimes I want to play non-spiritual empires but I'm too irrationally obsessed with ensuring my species will be psionic space wizards. It sounds ridiculous but this is opening doors for me.

Is it possible to make it so that you can choose a civic that gives you the psi-tradition perk at the games very start. For role play stuff ya know?

Don't edit the trait itself. Edit the localisation files.

Been trying to rename the trait from "Natural Psykers" to something more technical, like "Natural Telepath" or something, but when i try to edit the trait's in notepad++ it seems to screw up other dependancies, like the description etc. Can you help with this ? Otherwise I love this mod, and am very grateful for it. Thanks for sharing !!

Nope. That would require overwriting vanilla files, which I try to avoid outside of playing with the defines.txt stuff.

@Pope, I've just tested with console commands and it works, at least up to and including accessing the shorud. Don't know about other empire interactions but they are just mostly flavor anyway.

On a related note, I've also realized how the synth bonuses are so much better. Your pops get +20% minerals and all research and -25% on consumer goods. Sure, you get to keep your traits, but I don't think they'll be as good as pure synth. Governors and leaders also miles better. That +15% evasion corvette spam tho

@Roark, yes, up to telepathy, but I haven't got further in yet but when another empire got the latent psionic trait my materialistic trait was the only response (Which was like "Bah psychics"). Further in it might be similar.

But it definitely lets you progress through the start and second stages.

Does this then allow you to research all the following psi-technologies and complete the psionic ascendancy? For example, do the dialogues work properly if you don't have the Spiritualist ethos but chose the psi ascendancy?

My Stellaris main game language isn't English and because you mod archive has only <xxx>_l_english.yml file, all strings are displayed as '<code>_<name>_<something>'
Players who use non-English language would be very happy to see proper texts displayed in English at least.

Could you please fix this problem?

You can do it by: copy <xxx>_l_english.yml into <xxx>_l_polish.yml AND renaming 'l_english:' to 'l_polish:' inside <xxx>_l_polish.yml.

Then repeat this for every non-English language.

Maybe you could create script to automate this proces to not forget adding missing translation files when you will update main <xxx>_l_english.yml files?

Since I can't edit things, I thought I'd drop this here for anyone looking.

"Secondly, even when playing as a Fanatic Spiritualist getting access to Psionics is something of a crap-shoot. You need to research Psionic Theory to take the Ascension Perks, but that is a Rare Technology which isn't even guaranteed to show up"

So even materialists should be able to go this route with this mod, which made it my favorite again xD

Yep that's completely understandable! Either way I appreciate the mod geting updated, it's always nice to have a small number of custom empires who are Psionic. For the other stuff, I'm sure it will appear somewhere and if not I might even dabble myself to see why/how it was restricted. Thanks for your time :D

I've got some good news and some bad news for you, Pope. The good news is, I am absolutely planning to update this as soon as I figure out how.
The bad news is... with how ascension perks work, I'd need to horribly violate vanilla files to be able to have materialists pick up the psi ascension stuff. That's just something I'm not willing to do. Hopefully there'll be a mod to make it so that you can do that, though :D

Handy little mod. Was getting tired of my Materialistic people being incapable of utilizing a decidedly scientific/genetic component just becuase they didn't worship some space cthulhu.
