Sure. I'll eventually add the piece of code that directly loads from the vanilla ronin, though. All of my factions are starting to rely on vanilla content as a way to shrink the code in the ini files and remove otherwise redundant code.

Problem solved, I had to make the Revampered versions load some redundant files that were striked out, but everything is easy-going now. Ronin Revampered caused problems with both this and the Novakids mod. Should I post a fix for this on Novakids, since more people will see it on the new mod?

Oh, I'm a doofus. I was using Ronin Revampered, which makes the default Ronin Handguns.ini not load. I'll just insert the code, thanks for the help!

Try to replace the magazine code with this one:

AddAmmo = Magazine
CopyOf = Ronin.rte/Magazine Peacemaker
PresetName = Magazine Stinger
RoundCount = 9
RegularRound = Round
CopyOf = Round Stinger

Yeah, you are right. There's nothing there that should cause this... unless. Have you by any chance have a mod with something called Peacemaker? Magazine Stinger is a copy of a vanilla item called like that but if there's a mod with with an item with the same name... that might cause an issue like that. This would also happen if by any chance you have edited the vanilla content.

I'm suddenly getting an error at around line 41 of Handguns.ini. It says it fails to load a "Magazine Stinger," even though Magazine Stinger is right above it, spelled the same, with the right code, and everything else.
I'm not really sure what's actually wrong here.

I replaced the jumping with proper jetpacks and it makes this and the Avian faction so much deadly. I'll make this change in them so the AI can properly use them, at least till someone develops an AI lua that can operate actors with jumppacks. Also, I kinda like the bottlecap drops in my fallout factions so I'll do something similar with these ones. They will drop Pixels, which can be harvested as gold.

Well, I just finished updating my GWTB factions so it's time to update my Starbound ones. In addition to the updates for Floran/Avian factions and the new throwing impaler for the Florans, it's time for the Apex to have a faction in Cortex Command.

Sure, I know how to make throwing spears since I made them for one of my fallout factions. There's a particular thing about them, though. Their damage output is a bit weird... they can go from doing nothing at all to instagib or even kill actors.

@Bobbanz: Yup, I will add the other races too, eventually. I'm currently hooked on another game but I will get back to modding them one day. Also, yeah. I haven't played Starbound in ages but I think my mods there still work, since I haven't got messages about fixing them from the users.

:P Then I will let you know there once was a codex called The Iron Avian. Hiraki Corale the hylotl was on an airship, speaking to the captain. Then the cargo exploded as a metal avian came out. It shot some people and a circle of light appeared! It blasted off on powerful rocket boots!The captain was going to meet Greenfinger, so was Hiraki Corale…

Did you play Starbound beta? If not, there were Avian Towers with guards who used avian blasters that shot lasers of death.

Yup! There isn't much info about Avolite crystals but I could imagine they would be used in laser weapons. So far they work like this:

-They accumulate charges is a short amount of time so they cannot be reloaded by hand.
-Firing will shot all the charges into a red beam so the more charges, the longer the beam.
-The beam bounces on hard terrain so it causes every charge to scatter in small rooms.
-Holding down the firing button will keep firing the lowest possible discharge.

I'm not sure if Melee weapons should be made of these crystals, though. They seem to be like too important to be used that way.

Well, I got the basic bodies ready. I just need to make their weapons and it should be ready for release.

Something like that. Crystal SMG for rapid fire but low damage. Crystal Sniper for a long range rifle shot that does a like 2 - 4 damage per hit. Crystal Rifle for a charging shot. Crystal pistol for something in between SMG and Rifle. Avians are kinda Aztec styled as well so maybe some club like melee weapons. And maybe a spear throwing trap or fireball trap to work as a turret or a bunker item.

If youre doing bunker items then maybe Sandstone modules that are weaker than concrete or just for aesthetics

Hmm... yeah, the avian ship have those cristal things in it. Lasers kinda sound too powerful but maybe they could need charging so the more the button is held down, the more powerful the shot, maybe. Clicking should just release a harmless beam.

Maybe stuff like energy weapons powered by their red crystal things? Not super powerful but lasers or something or guns that fire chunks of red crystal

I guess it's time to make Avians... They are probably gonna be a bit more advanced than the tribal Florans but not as much, since they were technological enlightened while they were still primitives. They will have melee weapons and armor just like Florans but their ranged weapons will probably be better. Any suggestions?

I just updated the mod. The main additions are a new shield and an off-hand handgun. I also edited some of the content already in the mod, new sounds and new hairstyles.

New update. The main addition was a thorn fruit themed grenade. Some scenarios would force this faction to use vanilla explosives so adding their own explosives should stop this.

I also added lots of new hair styles plus some hunter helms. Check the Change Notes for more info.

You can find them inside the Base.rte file. There is a Materials.ini where you can copy a base material, paste it in another ini file and edit it as you see fit. Try not to use the same ID and name of existing materials, though.
