To add on, I tried using this again recently, and everythings great, except the missile tracking. They went into a large ark and never hit the target

This was the best missile mod. Wish it worked. Everything is weapon core now. And if its not weapon core, its small grid only. Need my longbows back :(

I think Alyzius is either just writing his own or scrapping it, since the combat mod has kinda removed the need for this.

I'm really frustrated with the Keen internal codes. attempt at rewrite failed. this is going to be scraped and rebuilt from scratch with new launcher and missiles models, new codes.

it was fixed but was right before Sparks update. then it got broken somewhere again. impossible to "fix", so I have gone via the revamp route

@Miniputt I do believe it's being worked on.
Also, did you try using your missiles on a planet? Whenever I use them, they only work in planetary gravity for some reason.

Is this mod being fixed? i would be so happy to use this again :D love this mod. do i need to add weaponscore mod for it to work or will this mod work by itself?
Just tested it, and the missiles are still just going straight.

somehow the missiles are not being picked up by the detection system. there's some workaround here due to keen API hiding some info. to have proper detection, i need to rework the detection system again

Hey, I'm on offline mode, and I have 4 Longbow Missile Launchers. I use the first block in the G menu, it fires on the left-mouse click, and it fires all four at once just as I wanted.

However, when I lock on and try to fire, only one actually guides towards and hits the target, the rest of them just go straight ahead. Any recommendations?

You may notice on DS, the missiles doesnt home on your client but it does on server (missile impact explosion seen). Im not sure why DS tends to return empty values for position, and im still trying to fix this particular issue.

FIXED. Currently i have done some minimal testing on Local and DS, looks working. Let me know if there are crashes.

This is all i can do for now, while im working on a complete revamp of this mod.

Sorry guys, i wont be updating this mod as there is a new WeaponCore framework that already adds multitude of homing missiles easily. Many mod already have homing missiles already, there is no need for this anymore.

I may consider building a new Mod based on WeaponCore, with better models for guided missiles.

so WeaponCore has had major improvements, it might be best if your still working on this to make convert this to WeaponCore as it has a more stable frame for multiplayer homing missiles

@Alysius As much fun as the Mexpex missiles from weaponcore are, I still feel that this mod has always been more preferable. I may be able to put you in touch with a handful of modders who can help with making this mod function with weaponcore if you so desire it.

@Alysius This mod has been a long time favorite of mine. As of right now, this mod has a couple missing textures and bugs but I'd love to see it updated to full functionality and possibly adopting the WeaponCore standard.

@Alysius this may be a good time to create a niche for this mod. The WeaponCore missiles are cool, but relatively short-mid range (0-3.5km). Perhaps work this in to where this uses LOS to designate for longer strikes, as perhaps an alternate fire mode. Or perhaps focus on slow-accell, high top-speed torpedoes specifically (WeaponCore torps not very impressive, unlike the nukes in this mod)

Really enjoyed having long range, high speed, high power precision strike ability...

Been thinking about it for a bit now (since my last post) and I think it would be best to just revamp this for now and wait for Weapon Core to get a few more major updates

yes indeed. As the wepcore homing seems to be only small grid for now. Plus this mod just fit so well onto many of my builds.

Personally a revamp would be favoured so as not to lose the models or functionality; there are no better mods out there for making a large ship VLS

@All been in a long hiatus, DarkStar has been working on a WeaponCore mod, he could have made this mod obsolete anyway. ill be assessing if there is a need to revive this mod or revamp to use that framework.

Agree - seems pretty ridiculous things like radar and guide missiles have not been adopted (I'm sure many have suggested) by Keen. I'm grateful for their fight against Lord Klang, but guided missiles, guided torpedoes, and radar are actual functional real world things that can be brought in. Have to rely on modder's but modder's have real world lives too.

Its a shame this seems so hard to maintain. It keeps getting picked up by new modders and they are able to keep up with it for a while then it falls to the wayside.
