You might be surprised to know that this is exactly how I imagined the item, however due to technical limitations, my own personal lack of skill, and the fact that we were a little unfamiliar with the API, made us settle on just regular old fire entities. If I have the time and can get someone to help me out, I'll implement the charred ground idea fully.

Just an idea, and I know this would be ALOT of work to change, and it mightnt even be possible, but I feel like it would be really cool if instead of having little individual fires trail behind you, you leave the ground behind you chared, cracked, and glowing with heat, it might look similar to creep pattern wise, just with a red hot glowing scorched type look, just and idea tho. But as it stands now the mod is still really cool, and more than fine as is :D

That's a good question man, I guess some ideas aren't as unique as we all thought! Our code is probably very different, mine's also a reference to the Hot Wheels series. I had the idea, didn't mean to make it seem like I was copying you! I suppose this kinda thing is bound to happen with a bunch of ideas.

Fear not, I understand your concerns. And I'm definitely willing to change damage values whenever needed, it couldn't be easier. If there's more feedback of people feeling this item is too strong, I will absolutely reduce it's power level.

Fires are actually weaker than they are in regular Isaac, bear in mind that with the power of mods anything's only as strong as you make it. The fire does player damage per tick, so does the burn, that's 3.5 damage each tick, scaling if you get damage items.

Regular fire does 22 damage per tick, so I get where you're coming from, but I had balancing in mind, so don't worry about that!

yes but you also have to think some balancing is in order
and fires are quite damaging to enemies unlike creep

It might make sense, yeah, I was considering it, and I'm not opposed to the idea, but I personally felt it a little too awkward to force the player to move the entire time in order to get the fire trail going. It's already tricky enough to hit enemies with it, I think.

hmm i don't want to be nitpicky but ithink it would make sense that you would be make fire trails only when you at max speed only.
