is it fix that you frezze in space?

I am finally getting the chance to work on some revisions of this ship - however I am away from my home PC, and thus the original workshop files, so it may take yet more time to finally get the problems fixed. Also working on a warp capeable variant - and in both cases will be addressing the fuel capacity issue i have noticed since the change in fuel tank behavior.

The freezing problem MurderFace mentioned is caused by non-airtight parts and no dedicated inner hull. Both sides the the cockpit are direct to vacuume due to no external separation from the gatling guns, RCS blocks and the lift engines. The archetecture of the hull makes this area impossible to seal. Same is true of the crew area where there is no solid bulkhead to separate the engine ports from the stoarge and operations gear on both sides. The only solution is to add considerable bulk to actually seal these areas off.

I plan to fix it by extending a "neck" behind the cockpit to give enough room to seal off the lift engines and then widening the rear fuselage on both sides by a single block so that storage and enginnes can be separated.

I love your ship too much to actually give up on it. Simply one of the best designs I've seen and used. But is has to get bigger to survive in the latest version of the game.

@MurderFace - Glad you like it! I haven't played for a while, and I know there have been some updates.. I plan on playing again soon(ish) and will try and figure out what the problem is and get it fixed if possible :)

This is a great SV. But when I leave the atmosphere I start freezing.

Excellent ship design, love how nimble it is to fly. I did not like the weapon mount pods, so removed them and added more armor to the roof. This also allowed me to move the core to a higher position to draw enemy fire away from critical components. Great work, good overall design, thanks for sharing.

@Stormovik - That's good info. I'm the kind of player who tends to fly through content at a rate far beyond average and as such, I miss out on the intended play curve as experienced by the majority.. It didn't occur to me that it's simply the material rarity causing concern. So I appreciate your input here. :)

the thrusters are not a big deal its the 2 materials that need a cv to grab which is an issue. zas and eres are late game stuff which are uised in advanced weaponry. the thrusters should be fine

@Minerva - that's basically what the rear "spoilers" are there for :steamhappy: You can extend them quite a bit without messing with the vehicles overall profile very much.

Beautiful. I love it :) I did tinker a bit though, added some armor blocks around the top weapon hardpoints and mounted 2 more rail guns next to the existing.

Upon attempting a revision to reduce level requirements, i've come to the conclusion it's not worth it. It is possible, but the negative impacts are too great... :steamsad: Fuel consumption and building costs actually increased when I swapped out the jets to thrusters, the mobility dropped to around 10-15%... I know the overall form factor is suggestive of something that should perhaps be a more entry level vehicle, but it's actually multiple days work of taking the functionality of many much larger SV's and smooshing it all into the smallest sleekest form that I could. I will nonetheless try again at some point shortly... I shall not be defeated! :steamhappy:

Ok so I had more of a coma than a sleep.. going to attempt a cut down version to lower level requirements. Unfortunately that will also require swapping out the Jets to basic Thrusters which will severely impact mobility.

can you publish a non railgun version for people who arn't in the late game?
minigun maybe rocket pods or just the 4 miniguns

@akonius - not entirely sure as I seem to blast through levels very fast and kinda skip stuff.. but you likely need to unlock the railgun in your tech tree before being able to produce the ammo for it. The basic constructor (sadly the only one available for SV/HV) is unable to produce it, so you will need a T1+ constructor in your base/cv in order to resupply. As for switching the secondary Thrusters/RCS on and off you need to open the vehicles control panel menu (P key by default) either while driving, or simply standing close and looking at it. You should see headings for (Eco) and (Turbo) RCS/Thruster groups - select the heading, and over to the top right of the panel you should see a small "active" tab. Tick the box to switch on all the items in the group.

This may be a silly question but how do I produce the rail gun ammo?? don't see it in my constructor? Also - how do i switch from ECO mode to SPORT mode?
