Oops, i must've forgot about them when making the list of ingredients. I'll drop a patch to clean up my code and add boards as an option.

Just wanted to share the recipe that I use for this mod, and since this mod is replacing another 'gear crafting' mod I made it similar.

Cut stone - - - x3 (Rocks x9)
Flint - - - - - - - x6
Gold nugget - x1
Crafts x2 gears

I also thought that you could add Boards as a crafting ingredient option since you have rocks and cut stone, and logs, but not boards?

Ran a quick test, mod works fine hosted, I was going to setup a dedicated to test but I can't be bothered with that right now.

I deleted this mod on my recent return to DST. Felt this time around it was a bit too "cheaty".

I just spent 20 in game days searching the land for gears and am now convinced all the clockworks have spawned in the ocean.

and the update is out, i rewrote the mod from near scratch, as i've neglected it since 2021 and it was in dire need of an update to get things working smoothly again.

ok well, i don't need to disable it as it still seems to work fine when testing, i will update it to use the new recipe system regardless as it's in need of a fix.

Odd, I tested it and found the recipe in the modded tab.

I'll push an update later this week to fix the crafting tab. But it should still work either way.

I'm not sure why the mod isn't loading in your game.

I started a new world after the wx-78 patch, but it doesn't work.

After uninstalling and reinstalling the game, the mod did not work.

This mod should work perfectly fine still. It doesn't need an update at the moment.

Small bug in configuration menu: If you hover over the "Amount" option it will give you a tooltip like "How many of the first ingredient are needed?", replacing "first" with "second" or "third" where appropriate. But when you hover over the newly-added fourth ingredient's "Amount" option it shows "How many of the THIRD ingredient are needed?". That is wrong, it should instead show you "How many of the FOURTH ingredient are needed?".

I see. Well, the more the merrier... so long as you don't go overboard by adding crazy things like live bunnies or something lol. I mean, sure you could do that if you want... I just really don't know who'll want that. Sticks, boards, and logs though; those are very basic materials, and it does look like there are some wood or sticks on some of the gears so it is kind of realistic as well. Even stone could be fine, if someone wanted to skip the refining process or just wanted an easier recipe or something. And other materials like marble also works as it is neither too common, too rare or too unrealistic. Anyways, have a good one. Imma get some sleep. xD

When I first made this mod back in 2016 I was pretty inexperienced and not great at modding.

When I rewrote the mod from scratch to release Version 3,
I ended up leaving out a few options, as I simply forgot to include some of them and didn't think people would use some of them.

Hmmm... why'd you remove some of the options since that older version? Felt like it was too bloated and full of useless features or something? Just curious. :)

In an older version of my mod I actually had most of those as options
I'll go ahead and add your requests in the next update.

I just wanted to thank you for this mod. While the other craftable gears mods and all good and well, I always do like having some say in how I want my gameplay to be. Granted, having too many options does make it all a little... overwhelming, but configurable mods like this one are always awesome to have. :D

I'll probably personally only be using the twigs or the boards, but I think other things like the marble and the extra gems would also be fitting ingredients to use to make gears and other people might want to use those. Thinking about it, perhaps stones and logs might be options some people also might want to use. Probably wouldn't hurt to add those as well. If anyone else can think of other stuff that either make realistic sense to be used to make gears or are gameplay-wise almost on the same rarity/power level as the gears, please do feel free to post about it if it's a reasonable request and if you think it'll make your play sessions more enjoyable/challenging.

It'd be awesome if you gave us more options. Requests:
- 1 more ingredient slot.
- More ingredient options like twigs, boards, marble and perhaps even more types of gems.

i don't remember the resources needed to craft it either but it's rather cheap to make the gears

I dont want them to be to expensive.

What do you need to make the gears, I use WX so I need to know what you need for them before I sub.

This mod is probably the most balanced craftable gear mod.

best usable mod!

This works really well with the engineer custom character.
