Nice puzzle, first attempt in 12 / 513 / 21. The PCB is not too hard, you can still fit several components. After some puzzling managed to get it to 7 / 360 / 13.

In order to achieve it you do need to know one thing which is a bit of a hack though: you can connect the in- and output together because it's either read from or written to. Saves one xbus connection to a chip

It looks like a OS - your opened file will be loaded into RAM, and when you opened the file again in the future, the file will be loaded from RAM directly to save your time.

Nice little puzzle, harder than it originally looks (partly because of the layout). Looks like I have some optimization to do, my first attempt is at 13/539/30.
