What a game... AWESOME MAP.... First military challenge I have really faced in a single player game... Thank you!

Attack interfaces are way too small. It's just ridiculous. In the northern-west region, you can't stage any siege, as the terrain has to be used for logistic purpose. Effectively crippled offensive capabilities. The realistic combat value from that is absolute none as the city can still fire over mountain anyway. The southern parts are too far to conduct any land warfare and some sections in the region are almost completely cutoff. It's like navigating the maze. Northern territories are too contested, meanwhile the southern counterpart are too isolated. Resourceful territories of Beijing has eastern ridge with just 1-2 blocks allow troops to move, so it could swipe north then carry war down the central plains without much efforts. What the hell, Sejong.

Incredible map, really fun to play. I have to say though, some starting positions are at quite the disadvantage due to Barbarian raids. I had Xi Liang (north west corner) as a starting point and the desert to the north saw huge barbarian armies spawning. If I didn't have the unlimited barbarian exp mod it would have been hellish annoying, but I did have fun sending expeditions up to clear out encampments. The AI which started off in the North East corner and was prevented for expanding for about 200 years due to barbarians. I wouldn't change it,but it may be something to consider for the sake of balance.

You should edit the south central area of the map to make it more accurate for jing province!

Love the Navigable Rivers! Great concept and execution on those.

three kingdoms!!!!

I am working on one - slowly. There is a 'heroes of the three kingdoms mod' that adds some interesting abilities and units, but is not a total conversion. Hopefully that will suffice, or at least tide you over until someone manages to complete this work in all it's epicness ^^

Yeah but having a lot of choke points A) somewhat imbalances gameplay towards defensiveness and technology and leads to more boring games and B), the mountains are sort of silly just from an aesthetic viewpoint: you have walls of mountains with no hills that slope off inbetween the flat terrain. Finally, there are lots of ways to make chokepoints without mountains, like citadels and forts, etc. Plus hills give a defensive bonus anyway.

The choke points were purposeful! Every area should be accessible from one or two different directions. Some of the mountains in the west are just filler. The majority of them are to preserve a defensive ring of some sort. I'll look at taking out some mountains once I get around to making the scenario ;)

After playing this map on Epic pace, I will have to say its fun...But I have to agree about the mountains, a few small passes would have made it fair less annoying. But still a very nice map, hope to see more from you!

This is pretty sweet, my biggest gripe is that it has waaaay too many mountains. At least some of them should be hills.

All items on steam are downloaded by 'subscribing' to them and then waiting for them to download in your mods section. It is important that you do not exit the game while this is happening!

I'm trying to wrap my head around some lua code right now, but that is the eventual plan. And.. shu, wei and wu? Think "land of chaos" ^^

And make the barbarians look like Nanman tribes.

Could you make the Shu, Wu, and Wei kingdoms as custom civs for a scenario with this map?
