La carte est très réaliste mais c'est dommage que les bateaux ne peuvent pas circuler dans les fleuves.

Si vous voulez jouer sur des cartes régionales, Guigui a sorti ses cartes .

If you want to play with France region maps, Guigui has released his maps .

Le problème est que les villes grossissent donc elles vont devenir rapidement les unes sur les autres si on en met autant.
C'est déjà le cas avec Orléans et Paris.

Après sur la grande carte il y a peut-être moyen de rajouter quelques villes mais je n'ai pas encore fait de partie 1850-2000 avec pour voir ce que cela donne.

Sinon pour avoir autant de villes il faut faire une grande carte à l'échelle d'une région.
http://transportfever.net/index.php/User/25692-Guigui/ en a déjà fait mais je ne croit pas qu'il les ait publiées.

Tarbes pourrait aussi être sympa pour faire une ville au milieu des pyrénées également

La grande carte est pas mal, mais j'aurais rajouté quelques villes car il y a des trous niveau urbanisation. Je pense aux villes suivantes: Bayonne, Perpignan, Grenoble, Chambéry, Vienne (ou Valence ou St Etienne), La Rochelle, Tours (ou Angers), Rennes, St Malo (ou Cherboug), Reims (ou Amiens). Sympa d'avoir la côte anglaise mais il manque dans ce cas là Douvres et éventuellement Southampton et Exeter, et coté italien Turin ou Nice pourrait aussi valoir le coup. En tout cas bravo et merci! :)

I am trying to do a custom map with a height map. When loading the map into Transport Fever the terrain appears really really sharp. Did you have this problem? How did you solve it?

I have extract the France from an Europe height map.
I have also found a height map of the France.
Both of them are found on the Internet.
Maybe better height maps can be found.

It is too near from Paris to represent it.
Even Orléans for the small map is not enough far from Paris.

Je suis content que les maps vous plaisent.
Je ne peux malheureusement ne pas mettre toutes les villes sur la carte sinon la France se transformerait en une unique agglomération.

A map of the France is hard because of mountains and rivers. I have tried to choose a not too bad trade-off but I agree, it can be better: I am not an expert of image edition.
There are in fact 2 maps in the mod. The 2nd map is smoother, but maybe too much.
Give me your impressions.
Feel free to modify the heightmaps to improve them or propose your own maps.
I wanted to play on France maps but there was no map for France. So I have created them. I will be happy if someone proposes better maps for France.

Use a softening filters to make the Map Smoother... Currently it looks totally ***.

Train fever add sometimes such problem on mod maps : it crashes at map launch invocating the impossibililty to create road.
Retrying (once or more) fixes this issue.

When I developed I have some errors given by the game when it fails to create road for example, but I have never had game crashed.
Do you have problems when playing with generated/random map and/or other map mods?
If yes, you have a problem with your game.
If no, I have no idea what is the cause of the problem.

Yes with both. The game doesn't tell me any error message, only windows says that Transport Fever doesn't work any longer.
