I love this ship design I'd like to talk to you about it for something!

Hey, do you know how to turn off Auto opening doors on CV's? I know someone whas able to using logic. Would you know how? You are a very popular builder, so I thought you might know.

@O'NeilL - Likely everyone's going to, I haven't updated the ship for 6.X environmental constraints. It's not airtight or ventilated, and the 'doors' into the ship are just ramps. An actual door would be needed to properly seal things up.

Hey! I've build this ship and its pretty good. Thanks for sharing! I've got a problem thou... The cockpit room and the room with the large constructor aren't temperature-regulated. That means the temperature in both rooms is the same as it is outside of the ship (space, moon, planet etc). When I climb the stairs and go to the other rooms the temperature is just fine. Did anybody else encounter this problem?

@Devtime, you're not the first person to say this, but I've tested the BP several times and it's never been "backwards" for me. Are you sure you're not just confusing what "looks" like front and back? I posted a diagram in the screenshots to ensure clarity, but you wouldn't be the first to think the front was supposed to be the "back" end and vice-versa.

Great ship for getting into the CV action nice and fast.

I have taken the left side of the ship off and added 3 rows of blocks down the center, different paint job but if you want the BP to modify it to your liking let me know.

Hmmm, looking it over it seems that modifying the ship to have a triple block center run instead of double would give just enough room to adjust things,,,,, You could call it the mark3 for the combat steel and the 3 block runway. Just a thought.

@Loudog: Sadly, I am forced to admit that the cockpit and core placement (as well as using only a single T2 RCS, right next to the core) leaves this ship extremely vulnerable to a sudden overwhelming salvo of enemy fire. I respect the request, but upgrading the armor won't solve those issues, and considering the difficulty I had in arranging internal components, I can't see a good way to rearrange things to make it less susceptible to that sort of event.

A more durable successor to the LXS is probably called for here.

Yes that may be true but my current playthrough the cv took a fatal volly from a Alien fortress,,, complete mistake on my part (Didn't notice I had drifted that low) I feel the cv may have survived if it had combat steel. It may not have also. The request is made for the player that wants to have the Selene in the upgraded version without having to upgrade all them shapes. Love this explorer. Hope your inspiration ignites to life.

@Loudog, Combat steel is for combat vessels, which the Selene LXS is certainly not. ;) The original Selene (Mk 1) was combat steel though, I may upload that as well, at some point.

I'd really like to get some new designs out, just haven't had the right inspiration lately and building anything feels like a struggle.

When we going to get a delux version with all combat steel blocks?

@dj_jazzy_snazz: Yep, the pylon pads are multi-purpose, though the rear-swept "spikes" make it a little tricky for HVs. Though as I found recently, the KHV-12 Drifter fits very nicely on the Selene's rear end .

@Kieve: Thanks for sharing this elegant and practical ship that is very affordable fairly early in Survival mode. I love the lines, the fitout and that you've placed the noisy equipment well aft. Truly, a luxurious way to voyage amongst the stars! :D

I very nearly went with this for survival mode, but I'd have struggled with the cargo space and I'm in a position to 'afford' something a bit bigger with internal docking for vehicles.

On that note, you _can_ dock a small HV on one of Selene's side sponsons, with a little bit of jockeying as you ascend the ramp. See here from my 'test drive' in creative mode:

Screenshots work just fine on my end, obsidian29. If you're having trouble with them, try clearing your browser cache or switching to a different browser - there's not really much I can do to help you there.

The screenshots aren't all working, any chance you could get this to work? :) I'd really love to spawn this ship but I need to know if it is what's right for server work.

This is very cool indeed! I tried it in a creative game and it responds really well.
It also has all the comforts of home. I may try and fit a few planters since I'm solo and won't need the passenger seets.

@Sationas - the core is located behind the constructor. Remove the upper-left wall block and you should see it.

Agree that it "looks" backwards, but it flies fine, moves fine, didnt have any issues at all except getting shot down :D

The ship flies fine. It just *looks* backwards. IOW the small end looks to some people like it should be the front, but it is the rear.

It's a matter a personal taste. I prefer the other way around as well.

Just tested my download, and I'm not having the same problems as @otokoyo. Must be specific to him. The blueprint for me and my friend is working fine.

Can you add me and re-upload the BP you're using as friends-only? I want to have a look for myself, because I'm testing the download from here and it flies exactly as it's supposed to. Sounds to me like either a game bug, or something altered with the blueprint.
-You don't have to keep me on your list if you prefer to "only add people you know." I'm fine with that :) I'm just interested in making sure my Selene is working as intended, or fixing the problem if she's not.

With exterior camera, the warp drive is in the front, facing forwad (when accelerating this is the front).

@Kieve, when I sit in the cockpit and select 'V' (change view) to ship exterior camera, it requires backwards flight.

@otokoyo - That... doesn't sound right at all. I downloaded and checked it myself and it flies perfectly. You do realize that the narrow vertical end with the warp drive is the tail (and rear) of the ship, right? The twin points and two underslung miniguns are at the front of the ship, and the pilot's chair is facing out the forward window.

@Kieve, it's more than that, the entire ship feels like it's backwards, the pilot's chair litterally is facing the oppisite direction to flight forward direction.

@otokoyo - can't help you there I'm afraid. Though I can see how the reverse-thrusters on the landing pylons might give that impression.

@vYORKv - It would reduce the ship's overall mobility, yes, in that you're adding additional weight. You'd want to throw some extra thrusters on to compensate, most likely. But the T2 RCS is beefy enough you likely wouldn't lose a lot of maneuverability unless you rebuilt the entire thing in combat-steel.

I don't really know how the ship physics in this game work just yet. If I added on a couple of extra landing pads for SVs would it slow it down or interfere with ship movement?
