This is a good mod! The only real complaint I have is that the ending was very abrupt. Great writing, dangerous combat(foreshadowed by the mod's description), and I loved the Matrix scenarios.

Overall though i heartily recommend. I do love your design of the matrix the most, especially in your other mod Mercurial. Would love to see a longer UGC incorporating this Matrix design with the investigation and intrigue from Mercurial along with the planning out a defense and setting up combats from this mod. That would make for the perfect pairing, like going into much more detail about the planning and prep and information gathering aspects of Shadowrunning as much as the actual runs themselves.

Enjoyable little run, i had a lot of fun with it even despite my intense dislike of Matrix combat, even though i really like non combat or combat-lite Matrix segments. Found everything in this interesting though expect the second matrix segment that got very repetitive, though the mix of real world and matrix combat at the same time helped a little for me but still find the Matrix side of the combat too obnoxious, though i think that's not really much that can be done about matrix combat since you only have 1 character to use so it's always going to get very tedious if it goes on more than a couple turns.

Not a bad little run. Nice character dialogue and depth for something so short. The battle part of the main section is a little awkward, but it does the job. Although I was never able to find out if the "fake sin" was actually obtainable or not, maybe just a nod to the PnP version like the Dodge Scoot?

At the Docks, I chose "sorry to interrupt", then "I've received a conterproposal", then "attack". The dogs\veteran and Telestrian guards bust onto the scene, and each of my team takes an attack at me. But then the red enemy circles at the top right-hand corner of the screen stops at the 3rd circle out of 6 circles and gets stuck there. Although I can get to the objectives menu and see that the dogs\veteran are now on my team, I can zoom the camera in and out, but I can't move the camera around the meatspace area). I've retried this conversation half a dozen times and it happens every time.

Theres some pretty original deas here with the arcade machine and the matrix scene, but the absolutely ENDLESS waves of Knight Errant troops storming your defenses is a dealbreaker. The flavor text alluded to clearing or boarding up the entrances, but after over 90 minutes I couldn't find a way to keep them out or escape. JUST. KEEP. COMING.

Enjoyable mod especially if you like the older decking rules. Pretty good character development for just a single medium length run. I recommend it.

Fun mod, though short of course. Not a surprise, though I guess it was well enough done to make me hope for more.

@Einmalige08.15 Part of the problem could be the classic Shadowrun slang thrown in.
Chummer = pal/buddy/friend, sometimes sarcastically
Drek = a curse word subsitute. I don't think Steam will let me curse here, so let's say, "poop."
Frag = subsitute for, ah, "fornicate."

I was confused by the ending/choice bit. I had to call the Shady Geezer to advance the plot, despite leaving things vague with him. A bit odd, but no more so than a lot of things in HBS campaigns.

More confusing for me was that I came to the conclusion that the ork on my team sold us out, but I never had a chance to confront her about it. I even played the last portion twice, but couldn't find a chance to accuse her. Did I miss something, or is it not set up for that option?

Thanks for playing, Minitails. Now that DMS:VP is finished, I can fix a few of the remaining bugs with Response Time and start working on the sequeal. Kind of exicted to get back to these three dorks and see what trouble they've gotten into in the meanwhile.

@tieflau, hey thanks! Really glad people with the GOG version can play workshop mods. That actually does sound like a bug tho. The shady convo on the Dock should only be required if there's a payment agreed on in the Mall scene, not if you just talked to him. So good catch. Thanks again!

Hey! Thanks for creating this mission. I had lots of fun playing it. Nice story, great characters, good difficulty and no bugs. My only quibble is that I had to contact the shady geezer to advance the story, despite really having no reason to after blowing him off at the beginning. Anyway, this is a great little run. ^^b (unfortunately I can't rate it because I own SRHK on GOG)

Oh, so sadly i have to agree your conversation options there are not that clear. Please keep in mind that not everyone who will read/play your story is a native speaker. So try to be as clear as possible. And i assume also native speakers have a problem to understand your writing.

@Einmalige08.15, I was just saying that no one ever sees the option that you just saw!

I think what happened is you told Shady you would destroy the copies, and then sided with your team. Which tells me I wasn't clear in the convo what was happening. So when you enter the red square and have the convo with your team, you need to choose: "Sorry to Interrupt", then "I've Recieved a Counterproposal" options . From there you might be able to convince them to go along with you depending on your rep. If not, you have to choose Attack rather than Defend. At which point you fight with the doggies against your team.

@Einmalige08.15, are you refering to the conversation with Shady at the mall, or the docks? If it's the mall, and you've bought all your gear, head out to the bike or van and use the warp interaction to hit the mission. If you mean the docks, then there should be a red square in the bar area where it will activate the next part (unless all your crew is dead, in which case I think the bike or van should have the exit interaction). Make sense?

@ebbpp, Hm. I can't seem to find the loophole that is allowing the matrix to be cleared and the elevator to be locked...

Is the matrix is still accessible? If not, then I honestly don't know what to do (obviously I'd keep digging and testing); but if the matrix is accessible, then you could try sending IQ back in? I'm hoping it's just that the Icarus exit convo didn't get tripped.

Yes, Ice queen have defeated the matrix, but sprang alarm on exit. There is no elevator exit, I haven't seen back stairs, every exit was secured by me, except wall crack on first floor which I made larger just in case. I've imported my character from Caldecott Caper. I'll check for that stairs again if I'll have time, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't any such way.

@ebbpp,the waves should stop after one of the crew uses the elevator (or back stairs if avaiable). The elevator interaction should become available after the team decker (your PC or Ice Queen) defeats the Icarus matrix. Once on the ground floor again, there should be exit(s) available that go to the next scene.

I'm not sure which interaction isn't working for you there. Is the Icarus matrix not activating? Is the elevator or building exit not interactable after Icarus?

Starting a new game with a character imported from Caldecott Caper should work from version 1.83 and on! Thanks to @Peacehammer for bringing it to my attention.

@Peacehammer: Thanks for the report! I actually know the cause of the bug in this case. There's some custom items in Caldecott Caper that can end up in the player's inventory. When you try to load up the store, the game can't find the reference files for those items, and instead of having any kind of resonable error handling, it drops out.

I might be able to bring the Caper's custom items into the data folder to allow people to import their characters from it.

Hi, right at the very start, I can't use any of the vendors. Tried the messed up troll street doc and the tech vendor in the squatters mall.

Was able to get noodles from the vendor, and give them to the mafia guy, but not actual vendors. When i try, the screen fades to the background normally on a vendor, but the sales interface doesn't appear. Waited for a couple of minutes.

Using an imported character from the caldecot caper.

One thing I want to note is that playing on Easy will make the crew worse because they are spawned as NPCs in the Mall scene and switched to Player on exit. The game engine gives them worse stats as if they were enemies as a result. The reverse is true of playing on Hard mode (crew mates will have higher than normal stats).

Bad programming on my part there.

Ok. Version 1.81 up to date. I finally removed the Burlador convo option that deadended. Fresh characters start with more karma and a slight boost in nuyen. Heat in the Mercury Matrix should raise half as quickly, and I added way points to the Mercury exit on quest complete. The Shady Old Man betrayal option should be much more accessable, and the spirit spawn point on the dock has a much larger interaction range. Also, reloading Dock should no longer lock player out (should work with old saves even). Could not duplicate a couple bugs and still working on the scene spilt (the two maps are in the pack, but not currently used in the path).

Only noticed in hotel. Got through the docks without doing it BUT the docks has another issue. Talking to that male mage whose name I forgot leads to a chat option that insta ends the chat. It seems tied to a acdemics or so and is one of the first options you can pick while chatting with him.

I think i missed the "old man" (i am guessing) because at the start of the game i spent ALL of my money in equipment and upgrades (new character, no armor, no nothing) so i couldn't even spend the 5 nuyen needed elsewhere.

If you confirm that it is indeed hard for a bran new character it conforts me a little. I found the difficulty pretty hight starting from nothing... i also needed to do the mission without any kind of armor for my main character (and even so it was the charater who fared best in the bunch).

But don't misunderstand me: the module is very open to player initiative, i loved the way you could xplore the hotel and prepare traps or alternative exits.

@Skree I will try to smooth the difficulty curve a little more. It's *very* hard with a new character, and very *easy* with a post HK character because of the narrow curve gradiant. Sorry about not getting that tweaked in right.

Thanks for the bug report on reloading at the dock! Sounds like there needs to be an enable team trigger on reload. I will try to nail that and a few other low hanging bugs this weekend.

One thing I intended for when you arrive at the docks fairly wounded or missing crew mates, is for the Shady Old Man to give you an easy out by betraying your Johnson and/or crew. I will really try to make this offer harder to miss in addition to easing the curve.

Nothing. I got a bug. I was in the fight ad the dock, i was saving almost each turn (most of my runners apart from my character were with barely any hp left). Now when i load my game the enemy team gets infinite turns and i never get to act.

It makes winning just a tiny bit difficult.

A shame, i enjoyed the mod, perhaps i will restart it and make a standard samurai instead of going for something a little more exotic.

But really... heal the team and reset the inventory. I found myself on the docks with most people with 3hp and not medkits or nothing. The single medkit and docwagon you find in the docks are not nearly enought to stand a chance, it only frustrates the player that you find yourself in a situation with no exit after barely escaping a run.

Now i just have to wait for someone to say "hey, it's realistic", "suck it up" or "get better at playing".

The heck. When you end fleeing from the hotel barely alive you get in the docks with the very same stats? And the "hard corps" guy attacks for 18/36 damage himself alone on the lowest difficulty possible (40 karma character)?

@Shmunkybob100, I can't exactly duplicate the issue you describe (tho I did discover a bug while testing it). Can you tell me if you imported a character or started new? Did you have Ice Queen deck, or did your main deck? And, finally, is it possible the Support IC had shielded all the IC?

It's been forever since I combated my way thru Mercury. Those to-hit percents are terrible for low end deckers. Jeez. Tedious.

Unplayable for me. The Response Team IC in the Tracking and History section don't take damage from my attacks.

@Deathjester: The matrix is similar to what you saw in Dragonfall, DMS, and Mercurial. There's a way to skip matrix combat in Mercury section, but it might take a few tries to guess the correct method. However, even skipping the Mercury combat, there's a lot of Matrix action in this mod. Too much, really. Live and learn.

The biggest bug is the memory lag that accumulates each time an actor on the Response Team spawns. It can be very annoying if you have an older computer.

How buggy is this? Is it playable or should i wait for most of the bugs to be squished before giving this one a shot? And what is old school matrix style? The same that the matrix used to be on the older games? Because the new one is horrible :D
