I read through patch notes a bit ago to confirm it.
I tried to make my own particle mod a while ago, which is how I found out about this.

It's a shame, this mod looked cool

I'm assuming that's the case, additionally the particle category is also not officially there in the workshop section for fof anymore too so yeah.

fof dev removed the ability to mod particles a few years ago.

Is this mod known to cause crashes? Because the only other mods I have are skin and sound mods, both of which have worked for quite some time. Seems to crash when someone dies, but idk

The most important mod for this game along with western spaghetti sounds for weapons. :3

this is a good mod but the smoke that comes out of the guns is worse then when snoop dogg hosts a smoke off

again, this is more cartoonish rather than genuine spaghetti western smoky effects, now that there 2 people who would like a smoky one, I'll make a spaghetti western muzzleflash mod

Puffs of smoke instead might actually help it look more like an actual Western. Guns in old movies were awfully smoky. I don't remember much flash, though.

i don't want the tf2 flash to be there at all so i won't make a only smoke + default muzzleflash one, and if you really wanted super legit realism, there almost wouldnt be a muzzleflash ( it would be really hard to see ), it would mostly be just boring smoke and no flashy stuff, that is actually how it would look irl. which is really boring.

but i might just make a muzzleflash removal + only smoke effects mod and call it "Realistic Gun Effects", maybe.

I only subscribed for the aftersmoke, it's just that the flash looks cartoony and silly aside from unrealistic, and that's not my style. If you've looked up some collections you probably saw my ''Realistic Modpack'' and I'm looking for more real looking mods. It's just my opinion. Could you make a separate version just for the aftersmoke though?

The aftersmoke's nice but the muzzleflash looks weird in my opinion :/

When you see the muzzle in the corner of your eye, it kinda look's like a TF2 Muzzle Flash.

love the flashes but wish the smoke was at about 50%. Not because its harder to see, but it makes seeing and tracking enemies a tad too easy.

the sounds are not included with this mod, that's just some another mod.

I like the appearance, but I don't like the sound FX.

While the effect is awesome and hope more people try it, this is maybe the kind of feature you don't want for yourself as it's harder to see sometimes (that's why L4D only shows them after player stopped to shot). It's also useful to see where other players went though so that kinda balances it :) BTW, there's stock smoke trails in the game just they only show locally after a certain gun smoke setting and they are dimmer (also used the L4D effect as base).
