A nice look back at Portal 1. Killing off the companion cube brought back memories off the first time I did it. I still felt really bad. RIP companion cube.

First thing I find out: the player can get trapped at the beginning of the chamber without a companion cube! I'd like a new cube please so I can actually complete the test without having to cheat!

Actually, it's fine. I could portal my way out... although portals aren't really used until the player reaches the source of the laser/energy ball.

Other players have my words: there are shortuts. The chambers of your series don't really feel like the original Portal chambers. Not even close. Too few players focus on good art direction, and sound as well. For example, why was I immediately nagged by GLaDOS instead of given a few moments?

I activaited the 1st 2 pistons, then put the cube & myself on the 3rd piston, & used the 2 portals, to activaite the last piston. why the first 2 ?
you could have put nuro toxin on the floor, after droping it, to prevent walking to 3rd piston,
dropping the floor, so we could still reach the 2 doors & emitter,
but not the 3rd piston.
mind you, when recently making my 1st map & working on my 2nd,
I found ways of avoiding things & not playing the way I intended it to be played.
took me quite a while to sort them.
even then, not exactly how I intended.
thought the extra time spent, helped me learn & come up with ideas.

Like the original, there are shortcuts. For example you can solve this using only the laser.

Great mix of Portal 1 and 2 indeed. Though the poles and objects in the Rattman's den have no ''collision'' effect or what's the best word for it. the player just moves right through them like they're made of air, feels weird.

It is possible to make this map unsolvable. At the start, when you use the companion cube to climb the steps, put the cube down at the top, then go back down the steps. You can't reach the cube, so you can't go any further. The original fizzled the cube if you tried that. Fix please.

Slight bug -- in the ratman's den, the pistons' arms aren't actually solid, I kept just walking right through them.

There is one thing that the vast majority of the comments here seem to be neglecting: the companion cube! WHY? WHY MUST WE RELIVE THAT PART?!

@ Jorbun, you can not anymore use Portal 1 approach when trying to get the high energy pellet through the two doors, that door behind you is just two slow. Worst thing is that you can bypass many of the puzzles just standing on the last piston lift directing the laser into receriver as "Bearcdo.ico" mentioned

You can bypass both of the energy pellets by standing on the last piston lift and then direct the laser into the receiver. This seems like something that should probably be fixed seeing as it requires no skill at all to pull off.

Nice use again of the laser, but forgot to put a hit box (if I'm using the right word) for the pistons' arms in Rattman's den. Also, will you add more props and textures from Portal in your mod once you release the full version? I understand that you're using only materials from Portal 2 so no one will have missing texture issues while testing the maps in the workshop, but I'd like to see back some of Rattman's drawings and also clean texture for some props, like the radios for example.

In the original, when getting the high energy pellet through the two doors, I was able to put the cube on the raised button, stand next to the other button, wait for the pellet to pass, then stand on the button, letting the pellet through. I can't do that here because the door takes a moment to open, so it just bounces off and kills me.
