In short, I made the distinction between the Roman Mauretanians, and the population of the entire region that for example, invaded the Iberian continent in the early middle ages and was rightfully called "Moriscos" by the Aragonese, Leonese, Castillians, etc. because of the large amount of Berbers. I am convinced they are portrayed in an historically accurate way, since they were professional soldiers and not levies.
I hope it's clear why I chose to have them look like North-Africans instead of Numidians :)

I'll get back to all of your points now haha
So why did you make them white?
The Moors were Muslim invaders that came from eastern Lybia into what had been Roman lands in North Africa. This was in the late 600s after Berber tribesmen there were converted by invaders from the Arabian peninsula to Islam and would eventually be called Moors by the Christian Warriors fighting them in Iberia. This mod is historically accurate as Dorian and jacobeest have told you in their comments. Try picking up a book before you make yourself look dumb next time
Secondly, the units in question were not drawn from a particular ethnic group but rather a particular geographical area. I can see why some of the soldiers should be of mixed race, but t suggest that these units being entirely African isn't particularly realistic either.
Thirdly, as it stands these units can be recruited anywhere. Apparently there is a way to make an AoR system but from what I know it's arduous to implement, so you'll be able to recruit these units from all across the empire. This makes making them all members of a race that would be in the extreme minority almost everywhere in Europe unadvisable.
If yoou're up for more suggestions (apart from more Notitia Dignatium units) I suggest a merging of the Roman tech trees, so that reuniting the empire is possible. But again that's merely an idea.
You're pretty damn good at this modding thing.
When i want to recruit a new general the units i can choose as guard unit are arranged vertical instead of horizontal. im not able to scroll down to beeing able to recruit other kind of unit
Love the mod, but the unit cards don't show... you need to put them into ui>units>icons, not ui>icons :D
